Importance of domestic cricket for selection
by caruthedath gopalakrishnan on Mar 24, 2010 05:25 PM  | Hide replies

The importance of performance in domestic cricket cannot be ignored. Saurav Tiwari who selected for IPL Mumbai Indians only because of his performance in domestic cricket. Then how can he say that performance in domestic cricket is not so important.

Doni

Will never take Tiwari, Utthappa, Irfan, Sachin, Kumble, Ramesh Pawar, VK, Munaf in the national side to make sure Doni is the only hero. Selectors are just bunch of jokers. I don't know what has happened to Srikant lately.

Stop straightening your curly hair

And start straightening your game, loud mouth Tiwari! No selector is going to take you into ODI and Test teams watching your T20 performance!

First there is not so much money.Second the papers do not even report about domestic matches .TV coverage is next to nothing . The pitches are all good for 20-20 matches and not good for three day matches and four day matches.
There is lot more talent in domestic cricket which is murdered by the selectors and the pitches .
All the glamour you see - people with little or no clothing - ya the cheer leaders are not there .
so the list is endless .Domestic cricket feed the bakhras for this tamasha.

Much better than any other spinners we have currently. I guess his attitude problems are preventing him to play for the country..

Hopw can we say - his attitude - it is some selector ,trainer or competitor etc.Really speaking unless some one has worked/moved very closely it is difficult to talk about attitude . His non selection has much to do with other than cricketing issues. He did a great job in English County .Heis good bowler and a handy batsmen -period.

It looks like a batting side altogether...Are you expecting part timers to bowl the remaining 12 overs? if Zaheer and Bhajji bowl 4 overs each?
