THIS IS A WELL DESERVED HONOUR FOR KAPILDEV. KAPILDEV WAS ONE OF FINEST ALLROUNDERS OF THE GAME. HE WAS A ATTACKING BATSMAN,A VERY GOOD MEDIUM FAST BOWLER AND A EXCELLENT FIELDER AND THE ONLY INDIAN CAPTAIN TO WIN THE WORLD CUP IN ODI'S.HIS 175 NOT OUT AGAINST ZIMBABWE IN THE 1983 WORLD CUP, HIS 4 CONSEQUETIVE SIXES OF EDDIE HEMMINGS, HIS 5 WKT HAUL AGAINST AUSTRALIA IN AUSTRALIA WHERE HE BOWLED INSPITE OF BEING UNFIT, HIS STUPENDOUS CATCH OF VIV RICHARDS IN 1983 WORLD CUP FINAL, HIS TERRIFIC BOWLING IN 1985 WORLD SERIES CUP, AND HIS ATTACKING MATCHWINNING FIFTY AGAINST NEWZEALAND IN THAT SEMIFINAL,HIS BOWLING EXPLOITS AGAINST PAKISTHAN IN PAKISTHAN,IN WESTINDIES IN 1982-83 SERIES, HIS BOWLING IN 1992 SERIES IN AUSTRALIA,HIS ATTACKING CENTURY AGAINST SOUTHAFRICA IN SOUTHAFRICA ARE ALL SOME OF TOP CLASS PERFORMANCES OF KAPIL.HE WAS A NATURAL CRICKETER, INSTINCTIVE CRICKETER AND A SELFLESS CRICKETER. IT IS SAD THAT HE GOT INTO MATCH WINNING CONTROVERSY FEW YRS BACK AND NOW SHUNNED BY INDIAN CRICKET BOARD FOR JOINING ICL. KAPILDEV IS A LEGENDARY CRICKETER AND HE SHOULD BE ACCORDED DUE RESPECT AND RECOGNITION BY OUR BOARD.

Kapil da jawab nahin!!! Who can forget his heroics. Top 3:
1) 175* against Zimbabwe when we were reeling at 17/5
2) 4 consecutive 6s off Eddie Hemmings in England in the test to save follow-on.
3) That catch to dismiss King Richards which gave us the WC-83

It is great that he is now where he belongs to: Gallary of Greats!!!!

Glorious Kapil
by Anupam Rrastogi on Mar 10, 2010 09:57 AM

Let us remember Kapil not for the records alone. Let us cherish his positive approach and sports spirit- the enthusiasm he depicted, playing straight from the heart. He had the confidence to lead the team in 1982-83, to West Indies and World cup, when the great Sunil Gavaskar, then captain of the Indian Team refused to Captain the series. The result we are all aware, how a simple team without any great stars became the Kapil devils. The same Gavaskar assented to lead the team in 1985 Champions of champions Trophy in Australia. We forget our Heroes, and the way his brainchild ICL was snubbed, when he just attempted to contribute to the game. The concept was transcended into IPL. He still can contribute to the game with his knoweldge, and we should voice our views towards his greatness.
