Kapil leading India to victory was perhaps the spark that ignited the passion for cricket in this nation. Before 1983 Indian cricket was mediocre... He taught us to expect more from ourselves. Highly under-rated in the current context, Kapil Dev Ramlal Nikhanj - You are the original Indian Legend. Everyone else follows...
Kapil Dev ji who woke cricket in me. Congragulation Sir, You are the No 1 sports person who gave back India the life after our hockey team & Ms P.T.Usha. We respect you for your great part played as India captian.
Many Many Congratulations to Kapil. In all my life, I have had only 2 sports Idols. Kapil has been the first, since my age 5. The next one (Roger Federer) came 27 years later.
I started playing cricket only because of Kapil. I remember having a huge wall poster of his famous 'in-the-air' bowling pose for many years.
He will be remembered as the first (if not the only) captain who brought us the World Cup.

Because he is Gurpreet. Name only suggests from where he got this super clever idea. :-)

There are lot of Paki's posting posing with Indian name. But unfortunately every time the IQ level exposes them, not to mention poor grammar.
Kapil has been a rare Indian cricketer - true to the bones - most sincere and a devout lover of the game. He was the rare breed of Indian medium pacers, who actually gave the impression that he could take a wicket when he bowled. He always put his heart out whenever he performed on the field. Who can forget his golden run at the 1983 world cup. No other cricketer at the time made you feel that proud. For me he would be an all time Indian Great!
