If srikanth is concerned on fitness
by jithu on Jun 08, 2010 09:29 AM  | Hide replies

If he is concerned on fitness then why he picked rohitsharma? Coach kirsten has already told that he has better fitness when compared to players like rohitsharma directly. Then y he was picked? INDIAN BOARD NEVER CARES ABOUT FITNESS. He is saying bull shit stories.

Though
by jammy dammy on Jun 08, 2010 09:26 AM

This team is obviously balanced after the returns of sehwags and gambhirs but still i believe that Harbhajan, Gambhir and Jadeja should be shown doors. Harbhajan is unable to pick wickets like Swann, Hauritz,Ajmal or Botha. Gambhir is another yuvraj in making, who thinks that now he is ettled in indian sqad and no one except injury can make him go out. and that is reflecting in his performances after his golden run.The whole IPL and T20 WC was evidence of that. Now comes Jadeja. He i guess is just an ordinary bowler and average batsman. If rainas, rohits, kohlis and Uthappas start bowling regurlarly then they would be better than Jadeja.Kohli also should be asked to adopt aggression. If we analyze his career strike rate then he would be no better than Dravid, whom all the indians curse. If we have to carry another Dravid in team then why not the original one.He has loads of experience.

Ojha, Nehra and Zaheer
by ashok srinivasan on Jun 08, 2010 08:01 AM

If fitness and fielding were the main criteria for selection then Pragyan Ojha, Ashish Nehra and Zaheer should not have been included in the team. They are liabilities and could give away around 15-20 runs between them on the field.

Good Decision by Selection Committee.
by DeshBhaktMale on Jun 08, 2010 06:58 AM  | Hide replies

I was such a big fan of this guy after his heroic innings in the Natwest Series final back in 2002. I remember he made 69 and actually had tears in his eyes after the match. It showed that winning actually matters to him and he cares about the country's pride. After the T20 WC in 2007 and his test innings of 169 which made many compare him to the great Brian Lara, I thought he was a force to be reckoned with . However, I was wrong. Recently he has shown that he is more interested in making money and is too involved in glamour and fame to focus on cricket. I remember asking him for an autograph from the boundry line when he toured West Indies back in 2009 and he did not even acknowledge me. It is high time he is shown the door. Sorry Yuvraj, I still think you have loads of talent but Team India can definitely do without you at the moment. After a very long time the selection committee has taken such a good decision. Let this be a warning for senior players that nobody's place is secured on base of name alone.

the truth
by sameer on Jun 08, 2010 06:47 AM

One can easily buy players like rohit shrma and jadeja nehra...either by throwing size zero gals or money or advert at them....secondly nehra pace is such that even gali cricket boy can hit him for a six, jadeja as bowler is pathetic on foreign pitches...

most importantly the main lack of winning is groupism...one group can drop catch to put others under pressure...watch the catch dropped by yuvraj during srilanka test when viru was captaining......yuvraj thoug a good player is out of form n fittness and doesnt plays for country, he can stop performing with bat (as he did in IPL after he was removed as captain) or drop catches when viru his rival is captaining.....

dhoni shud stop worrying about his captaincy and stop taking his chamchas into the side..

last but not the least, srikanth shud have selected good players like BANAWARI LAL, HARI PRASAD, GEORGE KAHUNA, SHYAM LAL GUPTA, K.P.S PUTANNI AND HOW CAN U LEAVE SURINDER SINGH PORBANDER OUT OF THE TEAM

p.s. confused hehehe these names are of common indian people who wate time n money on cricket...
