by ajith gopal on Jun 05, 2010 08:17 AM

Time and again its proving that, these Famed Youngsters cant do anything on their own, they need the presence of Seniors.

2 wicketkeepers
by Sameer Bhagwat on Jun 05, 2010 07:35 AM

Srikanths warped selection means India will play 2 wicketkeepers as openers tomorrow.

Dejavu all over
by India on Jun 05, 2010 01:58 AM  | Hide replies

India in familiar situation. This happens all the time. India in a must win situation where they have not only to win the last group match, but also win it bigtime by a huge margin. The result is also very familiar. India lose bigtime in the must win match and then give all kinds of silly excuses blaming bowlers, batsmen, umpires, toss, pitch, dew etc. for the loss. Happened in 3 World Cups already.

Well, the fact is that we never had fast bowlers who could get wickets and win matches and would neber have one unless this issue is addressed seriously and former cricketers do their bit in scouting for talent. Also, the format of domestic cricket needs to be blamed where a match is decided on the first's innings lead and the bowlers have no inclination to take wickets. No team should be called winners unless they can win matches outright. This would ensure that bowlers try to pick wickets than contain the batsmen. They would then try variations in their bowling and become better bowlers.

Replace Dinesh Karthik and Vijay Murali
by kumar on Jun 05, 2010 12:59 AM  | Hide replies

Reaplce both of them with a bowler and a wicketkeepers. Anyhow Dinesh and Murali are failed batsmen and are not in a position to play the game mentally. They need to be send back to india so that they can start preparing for Ranji Games. I believe Dinesh Karthik doesn;t require any more selections as he is having a fault technique. Anyhow Vijay Murali is worse than Dinesh Karthik.Selectors can stop considering these two till they retire.

Better yet, ban all TN Players from India team. So far no TN player has been successful in International cricket in the last 25 years. Some how idli/dosai/sambar/rasam/ chutney does not bode well for cricket.

What about ICC CT 2005, ICC WC 2007, ICC CT 2009, T20 WC 2008, T20 WC 2010. :-)

The results were no difference. B team or A Team, it does not make any difference.

At least in this case we can say that Raina led a B team with no expectations.

RUSH Ishant Sharma and RP singh
by E darwin on Jun 04, 2010 10:33 PM  | Hide replies

The Zimbabwe and Lanka consider Umesh Yadav and Vinay kumar as fast spinner who get wicket due to luck and batsmen mistakes.

Ishant was lethal in Lanka. Ishant will put pressure and RP singh will gain wickets and/or vice-versa. Ishant can be a big scare when gets the time which 50 overs provide.

We all know what needs to change with batting lineup.

OTHERWISE, INDIA cannot WIN BIG WITH LANKA or just not even win.

SELECTORS, WAKE UP AND NOT RAAPE AND ATTACK THE NEW CAPTAIN by your lack of vision and regionalism.
