Excellent batting by Sachin
by Krishnan on Jul 28, 2010 07:01 PM  | Hide replies

Sachin played well and Shewag should not have thrown his wicket. Let us wish Raina all the best for a debut century. One Ramamurthy calls Tamil Nadu dirty. Is he from Heaven? One's place has got nothing to do with his habbits.

I agree but the only USELESS player in the team is DRAAVID. Dont know why the selectors keep on with him and tag him along with the real icons like Sachin, Lakshman,Sehwag and formerly Ganguli. We can win only if he is out, because he wont run for fielding and as a result India plays only with 10 players. SELECTORS DROP HIM PLEASE.

Yet another first innings hundred on a flat track!!
by sandeep kumar on Jul 28, 2010 06:59 PM  | Hide replies

Yes, he always made use of this oppurtunity when it presents. Flat pitch, bowlers like randiv, and absence of strike bowlers like murali and malinga, and thus made sure that he got another hundred. Now if India is in trouble in the 4th innings on a wearing pitch, can he produce similar sort of innings? Compare this to Sehwag, who make every innigsncount. Tendulkar may score another 15 hundreds and another 5000 test runs, but the number of match saving/winning innings can be counted on the fingers of ONE HAND. Chennai 2008 and what else?

had he not scored 100 we would have certainly lost this match...do you agree?
match is not won or lost just based on performance in last inning.

And its not always about ease of track, its also about pressure. This innings was under some relative pressure.

And yes on a wearing pitch (3r/4th innings) everyone including sehwag has a poor record. Go check the stats

Sehwag is no better than Sachin in 4th innings performance. You better check the statistics. Sachin made an 84 in the previous test with Murali and Malinga bowling. Even if a flat pitch or not somebody has to perform for the team. Your view is as if, Sachin takes home all those runs and it is not added to the innings total. What exactly you wanted? Sachin not to perform well?

Now that Sachin has scored his Hundred, it matters a dime whether India loses the Test.

With their best bowlers and batsmen Sri Lank lost by an innings and few runs twice in India in 2009. We also miss Zaheer Khan and other bowlers.

Fitness
by Maihoon Don on Jul 28, 2010 06:57 PM

Fitness is the most important thing i modern day cricket...i have realized.

People were doubting the Sachin of 2005 to 2008..these years he was suffering from the recuperation of tennis elbow injury...his shoulders were not strong...now it looks like he has got back the strength in his batting...no wonder he has made 5 centuries in 6 tests he played in 2010.
