dhoni is just an ordinary citizen of this country
he might have led the team in T20 WC to victory, but what about series of failures?

T20 WC victory was a fluke. failure to win the last two T20Wcs and any other ICC tournaments only confirm this fact.

But some fans of Dhobi, who could not find any particular skills worth appreciating, started hyping his captaincy.

As you know, captaincy skills can not be evaluated, not even by losses and wins, because a captain is as good as the team he has got.

Dhobi is just a hype without any substance.

He is not even professional sportsman because he has many times misused his authority---by promoting himself ahead of regular batmen like Raina, UV, Rohit sharma, when things are going well (when score is 100/2), but hide behind the same players when thing are not so good (when Score is 10/2).

action will taken on his failure, but he is still capable captain, and India with such ordinary bowling reached to no.1 position is because of his captaincy, India's outstanding batting line up and his good luck

Consistency matters. Thats why SA is always respectable without winning any major events and has achieved top position so many times.

Go Sri Lanka ....go...
by SekharaM on Jul 26, 2010 06:11 PM  | Hide replies

Come on Sri Lanka, teach the overworked and spoiled players a good lesson of how to keep fit and preserve their skills. And a wake-up call to BCCI and all the politicians and businessmen associated with it.
Hand India a defeat by an innings - let them know what it means to play serious cricket with the dedication it deserves - not a tamasha to be played for sponsorships and cheer leaders.
And also this will be a lesson to all fellow cricket-crazy Indians that our cricket idols have feet of clay - they just cannot perform in an international competition.
They may have some skills but certainly not the will to compete.
Since BCCI will not scrap IPL due to business reasons, the only way Indian cricket can be rescued is by weaning away the public from this sport.

Buddy, were the indian cricketers world beaters before IPL came into existence? The point is india never had real fast bowlers who could bowl real fast. They only had srinath who could bowl reasonably quick and kapil was a beautiful swing bowler. We need to discover and develop quality fast bowlers if we wish to be world beaters.

Personal and Professional........
by Anurag Rathore on Jul 26, 2010 06:06 PM  | Hide replies

People should not mix up a player personal and professional life. There are lots of examples where a player who is bad in his personal life but legends are in their profession like T.Woods, S.Warne, M.Tyson etc.

Because of our media innocent people who don't have their own vision are misguided.

unfortunately cricket and politics goes together due to captains like dhoni and srinivasan etc

if dhoni was a true professional player and captain - he would have not tolerated M Vijay after so many failures

-sachin can ask for a physitherapy consultant as a captain

-ganguly can revolt against coach greg

dhoni is free to express his views, instead of blaming players on night club outing why cant put forward list of players to be selected along with kristen

He did but selectors leaked in media. Remember RP VS Irfan issue. He is not getting team of his choice and that is fact. Otherwise no one could drop RP from T-20 squad without any reason.

Fast bowlers
by Len Hutton on Jul 26, 2010 05:58 PM

Ishant Sharma and Irfan Pathan – both got quick popularity and quickly they gone in to rough patch, could be because of exhaustive usage, same happened with great kapil dev also but in those days cricket was not played like these days all 12 months. If we play cricket like we have been playing these days tests, one days, and t-20. we will need at least 50 good international level fast bowlers.

india can only perform at home and that to when luck is with them.its the only the other teams blunders that makes them win matches.look at the fitness and overweight of yuvraj bhaji, shewag, tendulkar, laxhman.dhoni is unable to make correct team selection, and his onfield indifferent attitude is very bugging.a captain has to be expresive to make his presence felt.the senior players dont care a damn about him.

If you get married, will u invite your whole office to your marriage?
Marriage is a personal event, and not a public one
