Harbhajan needs to play domestic cricket. With the second largest population in the world y can't we get a quality spinner who can take wickets.

my dear friend if Harbhajan can lift Ambaani's wife after the game in ipl(hope u saw ipl)..imagine the support he has from political and sponsors. We cannot do anything but wait till he reitires..

He's a man with a secret mission not to pick up any wickets in this series. He's a success in 3 innings so far. PS: don't know if forgot what picking a wicket means
Ponting's achievement is highly commendable compared to Sachin...look at the number of critical knocks he has played purely keeping the team's interest in mind. When Dravid declared in Pakistan...Sachin facial expression was akin to a school boy...despite playing for 15 years....No doubt, Sachin will keep playing till Ponting announces hs retirement so that the record is in his name..

Just comparing Sachin's and Ponting's statistics does not provide a clear picture. You have to see the circumstances under which both these players played their career. Australia till 2007 were a far better side than any in the world. They had two of the best bowlers in the world in Warne and MacGrath. Apart from Ponting they had likes of Hayden, Langer, Giilchrist. Till 2003 they had Waugh brothers as well. If Ponting failed Australia had others to fall back on. And Ponting was aware of this and he played freely. Since 2007 Australia is more depended on Ponting than ever before. And pressure is clearly visible. His average since 2007 is far less than his overall average. Sachin for the first 10 years or so of his career was the main batsmen for India. More often than not if Sachin failed, India failed. Dravid was always a good batsmen but he became great after 2000-01. Laxman, Sehwag all came after 2000-01. The point is Sachin for most part of his career played in a weaker team than Ponting.
This fellow is only after personal records and will keep playing till Ricky Ponting announces his retirement...Ponting's achievement is more commendable...he plays for the team to win.

The problem is that, people don't understand the cricket well and still comments as if they know everything. Cricket is team game. Single player cannot win matches unless they are supported by others. Sachin would have won many matches if he was supported by the team. They were lot matches where sachin scored runs still we were on the loosing side. This is becoz of a simple reason that others did'nt contribute at all. Ricky ponting on the other hand was supported by a great team. A team of match winners. If Sachin was part of Australian team, he would have won lot of matches ,on the other hand, if ricky was part of India, he would have been most unfortunate cricketer in the world. Yes, Sachin wants to score as many centuries as possible and also slows down when he nears a century, but that does'nt mean that he is selfish player. Shane warne is not a fool to put Sachin as the best player he has seen playing!!!

It is amazing that the guy has achieved what he has in spite of the constant carping from losers like you who also happen to be his his countrymen. On feels proud that Sachin is also an Indian - and one feels ashamed that people like you are too

When you comment on the achievement of a sportsman, don't see whether he is from India or Australia,Mumbai or Bihar.....your comment should be unbiased...
BCCI must launch serious talent hunt for pacers and speedsters to improvise .Bring on the top twenty fast bowlers and give them serious training and fitness tips .This is the only way India can end this drought/As far as spin is concerned , Harbhajan must morally resign .Murali karthik and Ashwin are real prospects.
Re: ways to improve
by Macurpal on Jul 26, 2010 07:33 PM
Murali Karthik's real worth is understood by the counties, but for some reason best known to them selectors don't pick them. Will ever bowl worse than your Bhajii or Ojha? And don't suggest a lineup with 2 tamils - the antitamil brigade will just jump on your irrespective of credentials.

when stars dont perform , what is the use of star value..I have been telli Bhajji is a waste bowler .He is good in batting pacebowlers and just good in restricting batsman from a good strike rate.He is useless as a wicket taker or crafty bowler.

Yet another bashing from SriLankan batsman..if our batsman doesn't perform we can lose this match too.. Guys just imagine.. may be after 2 years..we will not see Sach, Dravid and Laxman.who will replace these players..Virat, Rohit and Raina.. are these players good enough? My answer is we do not have any other options. I dont want to speak much about our bowling..we need a bowler like Kumble..who is a match winner for sure on any ground..I can say same about Harbhajan singh..he is too unpredictable. I dont thing I need to speak about fast bowling..all are hopleless except for Zaheer who always has concerns with his fitness.
So Really after 2 years Team India would have a impotent batting and toothless bowling as it is now today. So literaaly we would have a hard time in against Bangladesh too..forget about other countries. The thought of Sach, Dravid and Laxman retiring is very scary. But it will happen at some point of time may be in coming 2 yrs.
Re: Where is Team India heading

sachin, dravid rtc have been carrying india flag with distinction, but ours is a billion plus population. we will definitely find another sachin/dravid. this is the start of the new generation of indian cricket.
congrats to srilanka for a splendid opening day score. hey guys, we placed our cricketers on a high pedestal when they triumphed, so it is not right to criticize them, this way. zak is not playing and bhajji is going thru a rough phase, and without ur best bowlers(absent or bad form), it becomes difficult to win.moreover mithun and ishant are still young and they will learn from failures as they play more cricket.
