Re: Irfan pathan

Irfan was a promising cricketer who showed great talent when he started and was at his best when he took the hattrick in a Test v Pak. He is still a great batsman, and I would rank him better than most of the batsmen (other than the top 5 who play for India in Tests - Sehwag, Gambhur, Drvaid, Tendulkar, Laxman), especially in true pitches. But he is lost as a bowler now. Remember he was sent back from the middle of a series when Vengsarkar was the chief selector, that sums up his deterioration in bowling. If he is determined, he can easily come back as he has very good talent. But I do not know if he is as dedicated to cricket, as he was earlier.
There are few major points which will make you feel cry and sad about a person who gave us proud and glory in name of CRICKET. And, he is non other than Kapil Paaji.
Below are the events against a legend :
1. During 25 years of World cup victory, organised by BICCI, did not even send a invitation card to a person who was the the captain of the ship. But awarded rest of the squad infront of the present players, and governing body. 2. Players like Prabhakar alleged match fixing on him, not a single person including players who were team mates of Kapil paaji, nor a single peron of BCCI came forward to rescue him. It was him fought infront of the TV camera, and cried "By saying the person who has dedicated his life to cricket and glory for my country standing infront of you to beg for justice." 3. All players and former players are receiving salary or stipend for their contribution towards cricket, where as BCCI has cancelled his stipend and never allocate anything for him. 4.People like Sharad powar, Ratnakar shetty, Niranjan Shah, Lalit Modi, Chirayu Amin enjoying their life style and power, doing NOTHING for cricket or players or it's governing body, where as a legend like Kapil paaji has been thrown out of the door, demoralising in public,& humuliating his status and contribution towards the game and country.
It is sad but true to watch helpless from outside as a citizen and cricket lover, but what happened to those players w

Very true, there will never be another Kapil Dev in cricket. He has always remained the true hero, which no Indian cricketer can match him really, even if others can beat his records statistically.

The BCCI and a few power bosses have not forgotten the role Kapil played in the ICL saga. Some hate his forthright attitude and frank speak and hence treat him brusquely.
But they cannot take away the fact that he is a cricket legend and the greatest all rounder ever produced by India.

I am ashamed of being an Indian by not honouring Kapil Paaji, even though I am not responsible as I am an ordinary citizen. Sorry Paaji.

also serves the purpose of the fools governing the board, they legalise and authenticate their actions by having these ex-players around, but do not want a person like paaji who will question their actions/selections and dealings. That is why JIMMY & PAAJI ARE BOTH OFF-LIMITS to the inner working of BCCI,KEEP THEM A SAFE DISTANCE AWAY.
Every Tamil Nadu player he has selected so far is a Tam Bram, just like him. Is that a mere coincedence. Does no body else play cricket in Tamil Nadu ?
All through his career as a commentator and selector, Srikanth has been more keen on promoting and selecting Tam-Brahm players from Tamil Nadu.
So, he is correct. How will there be another Kapil? when his is trying to create more Srikanths...

Tell that to Srikanth, and ask him to select some 'real good' players no matter where they are from. That will do a world of good to Indian cricket. We have seen Regionalism, State-wise favors, and even money-wise favors. But selecting players based on Caste? now that is nepotism on steroids.

So you expect him to pick all 11 players from Tamil Nadu? Well, if his favoritism is not questioned, he would do that too.

so who else is there other than thes eTamil Brahmins for Srikkanth to select? Balaji - fitness issue...maybe Stalin's grandsons or Alagiri's grandsons?
the problem with this Shrirkanth is he is a heavy chain smoker..He plays with haste and tries to hit simulataneous balls without seeing it is a bad ball or not .in the process he gets out very fast..He failed as a good technique batsman and he never played a responsible innings..But when he Played well , India has won..

Irfan pathan is a better all-rounder but stupid Srikanth doesn't give him a chance to play.
