Sameer Bhagwat
Srikanth
by Sameer Bhagwat on Jul 15, 2010 08:26 PM  | Hide replies

Srikanth is more interested in making a Batsman out of Dinesh Karthik than trying this talented youngster.

Its really a shame. One look at his record and he should have played way ahead of many others.

Pujara missed entire last year because of a knee operation. This is the first year after his resumption of playing. Do not go by thinking about regional bias in mind. If you look at the domestic records of players from TN who were selected, you will understand that. Cricket is not just IPL.

Pujara will soon be in the Indian Test team. He could have replaced Yuvraj now itself, but selectors have placed faith in his matchwinning capabilities and have given another chance. Soon Pujara is going to be in the Test XI, why you are trying to create unnecessary divide.

Unfortunately he is not from Tamil Nadu
by sreenivasulu reddy on Jul 15, 2010 08:06 PM

Every one knows Pujara is far far better than Vijay Murali. But Srikanth wants to push his Tamil Nadu players. Everyone knows how scared Vijay Murali was with Fast Bowlers. I still remembered the way he was shivering while facing steyn and Co from South Africa. One bouncer stopped his heartbeat and Vijay was so keen on getting out. Also Vijay was failed miserably in last two tournaments. But still he is getting the chances and everyone knows why.
Also it is unfortunate that Srikanth is giving opportunities to junk players like Dinesh karthik. Dinesh Karthik average is still low 20s even after playing 50 test matches. That too most of the matches are against Sri Lanka, Zimbabwe and Bangladesh. God knows how he is going to perform with Quality bowlers.
I believe this is the time, selection committee need to flush out players like Vijay, Ashwin and Dinesh Karthk. They need to look into quality players like Pujara, Rayudu, Rahane. They need to groom these players.

DRAVID vs PUJARA
by SKM Prasad on Jul 15, 2010 05:35 PM  | Hide replies

Don't compare PUJARA to DRAVID. Dravid has done a tramendous job to INDIAN Cricket. We can say only few Indian cricket legendes are always evergreen with every cricket lovers mind. They are 1. Sachin tendulkar 2. Rahul Dravid 3. Anil Kumble 4. Kapil Dev 5. Ravi Shastry 6. Saurav Ganguly 7. Javagal Srinath 8. Krishnamachari Srikanth etc...SANJAY MANJREKAR / ROBIN SINGH / AJAY JADEJA / NAYAN MONGIYA / PRABHAKAR/ VENGSARKAR/ RAGHURAM BHAT/ SYED KIRMANI/ GUNDAPPA VISHWANATH/ BISHAN SINGH BEDI/ MK PATOUDI were also good cricketers.

Pujara
by Nityabrata Das on Jul 15, 2010 05:14 PM

We knew u had the gem. Probably, Sourav also had similar confidence. But ultimately you came up late and marginally the Knight Riders missed the bus. Again, next year you are not bound to stay with the party. You and Unadkar - both these emerging players can leave the Knights. That will be a huge disappointment for us given the fact that Knights hardly have good local players other that Sourav or Wriddhi.Once u are through to Test Cricket, ur State as well as we will be very proud and happy for ur success.
