We can only wish Badri well to caopitalise on the opportunity.Even for Saha it is an unexpected break because from the team composition for the first test it looks almost certain that Dhoni is not playing. Our best wishes to Saha .Inclusion of the Young pacer from karnataka is the best the selectors have done.We can only hope he gets to play atleast one match.

badri deserves it...no one who keep tracks of indian cricket can say that badri's inclusion is a regional bias..am not a tamil , hence i am not biased when i say this ...among keepers saha is a young and promising keeper with a more than average utility batting ability, meaning he can win matches.

Saha's inclusion is primarily due to presence of Srikantth as well as Raja Venkat in the commitee. Kartick as keeper has not performed well but as a member of Team india he has won several matches and is a very good fielder. This cannot be said about Saha at this point.
my observation tell me a number of talented players are selected ,regardless of region ,touted end up for table service,like the lady in waiting,look deeper they have played domestic cricket,ranji trophy,and even ipl leagues,formats change,all that talent is on the bench bunkers,the waiting some time is so long, from fore play to real play fustration sinks confidence lost,,ticket sales ,impression ,political points come to play,tantelising it may be, this is a game where only natural survivors can come through,what ever be the bias,to some they are drop outs,failures,or sheer undaunted conviction,my heart goes out to those who have not seen one chace for themself.

Karthik is neither a good batsman nor a good keeper. He is just ok in both department. So he will always be just a replacement player. Hope Saha is a good keeper, he doesn't look very promising in batting. He should be in Tests only. For ODI we need someone who knows power hitting.

Karthik is a far better keeper than MS DHONI. Batsmen, yes I agree he is avearage. But not that bad as you have mentioned. Rest is your opinion.
good that karthik got sacked. he was a waste n thrown out of team in lanka but again came to team without any efforts, thanx to srikanth. but glad that saha got selected over karthik. however, amused still how karthik was rejected.

Kartik is worthless wicketkeeper.He got so many chances for so many years yet was total failure.He should have been kicked out much earlier.

it is unfortunate that mindless idiots like you criticize Srikkanth, who to be fair to him has been the unbiased selection committee chairman in recent times. Karthik was in the team for his versatility. He could be a regular middle order batsman, has played attacking innings in the lower order, opened the innings in tests and ODIs, performed well with the bat, when Dhoni was the keeper and Karthik the batsman. That being said, his keeping has gone down a bit, so he was dropped ... fair enough. But, there was absolutely no partisanship involved. If TN players are making it to the Indian team, its because they have a pretty good bunch of young cricketers now, like Karthik, Ashwin, Vijay etc.

i m not against tn players but yet karthik didnt deserve it. instead i wud support badri who has been ignored for so long. he deserved better treatment than useless karthik. again i wud repeat that karthik did nothing after he was dropped from lankan tour but still got selected when the second keeper's slot was to b filled.

although parthiv wud hv been a better option than saha, but still saha is definitely better than waste karthik.
all players which are marketable due to good looks by ad companies can only succeed, example dravid, tendulkar, youvraj, zaheer, some exceptions like kumble srinath srikant, gavaskar were there who were average lookin but those days are long gone, if wriddhiman is good looking or if he goes for makeover then only will that bloke be marketable
