unwanted message of Virender Sehwag
by hariharan on Jan 16, 2010 06:48 PM  | Hide replies

The message conveyed by Virender Sehwag is unwanted. These are the same lines conveyed by Mr. Asif Iqbl once when he was the team manager with the Pakistan team which toured India.

Do not take the opponents lightly. They can change the world of Cricket at any moment.

Bangladesh, a team that has won 3 out of 63 matches it has played, lost 52 of them.
the 3 matches it has won are 1 against Zinbabwe and 2 against the 2nd string West Indian side.
Leave aside winning, Bangladesh is a team that has struggled to draw a test match also. So, the statement that Bangladesh is an ordinary team is actually wring, it should have been that Bangladesh is a very bad team :)

rocky,
just because India is ranked no.1 in tests(for the first time)does not mean that India is invincible like the aussies.India's track record shows its inconsistency.

AJ:

First, When a team is at number one ranking, it does not mean that it is invincible. what it implies is that it was better than other teams that participated. Same holds for India.

Second, Australia are nomore invincible.

Third, India at number one for the first time. How many countries have been number in ICC test ranking :)

Rocky, that is exactly my point.India at number one for the first time.Hence it is not time to boast.Only 8 countries play cricket.Only aussies and SA have been no.1 till now.Whie both of them have been consistent in their winnings,India have been inconsistent.

India is at number one ranking in tests. so, they do hav the right to think that they r the champs whether they think or not is a different story.
Second, as per u Indian cannot come up with this comment against the lowly Bangladeshis, that says it all that u having problems withagainst India being number one:)

Third, I am not denying that India r invincible.
Foruth, If Australia and sluth Africa are consisitant in their winning then why r they not at number one :)

Don't forget you were humilated by sri lanka in last tri series that too with their B team (with out murali, jayasurya etc) so veeru and dhoni should concentrate more on practice rather than under estimating others and advertisements.

Sri Lanka really needs to look into this. Their A team lost miserably to India and their B team won hte cup. So, may b Sri Lanka hav to let go of their old players which form their A team. the same holds for australia also :)

This is not approriate time for Sehwag to show over confidence. He should be penalised by BCCI for opening his mouth an wrong time. Why should he make any comment he is not the captain of Indian side, who has authorised him to speak???

IH:

And our batting against an "ordinary" side makes us more ordinary than them, i.e. very inconsistent.

Lets see what our Chief Excuse Officer Mr. Dhoni invents in terms of excuses this time. :)

Surely there MUST be a reason for our "more ordinary" show in the first innings, isn't it? :)
