Re: Watch out - Dravid should have stuck to wicket-keeping as wel
by E darwin on Feb 23, 2010 07:47 PM

Gate crashing T20 is unsuitable to people such as Dravid who can wait whole day for a bad ball.

They need to learn from manipulator babuaas like Dhogi who take advantage of any format by using different Indian gate crashers.

Dravid should have stuck to wicketkeeping, because that way, his position is safe due to combo of wicket-keeping and captaincy.

Captaincy allow one to shuffle their batting order somewhere in middle to shift score acceleration burder to top and low orders.

Then, avoid the topic of rotation of captaincy and wicket-keeping by shifting the blame on bowling and batting.

To add to the woes, Captain can change the order of batsmen per his own convenience to kick out the competition and unfavourable players.

To top it all, Rohit does not have the shield of wicket-keeping
by D S on Feb 23, 2010 06:35 PM  | Hide replies

Look at Dhoni, his batting remains unchallenged due to wicket keeping.

Captaincy also helps where he can shift his order per convenience and put burden on other players.

Advantage Captaincy, Dhoni can also shift the batting order to competition up and down to get them fully screwed.
Many more unfair advantages of being Captain and Wicket-keeper as well.
Drop catches and miss chances per convenience of players who do not kiss his butttt.

I mean being captain, Dhogi can move players who are unfavourable or his competition up and down the order to get them nailed. We have seen it.

Nothing wrong with the Rainas and others choosing 2020!
by sandeep kumar on Feb 23, 2010 06:29 PM  | Hide replies

Dravid is probably envious of the fact that he dosent have the stroke making skills of a koli or a raina, and thus cant get into any of the IPL or other 2020 teams other than RCB. Its actually time for 2020 cricket to take over, and reduce the no of test cricket. An Eden gardens test match happens once a year, most of the time we are left with boring matches in ahmedabad and faislabad and wellington where no one comes to watch. 2020 is the only way to bring new countries into cricket. Test cricket should be the least prioritised of all forms, since in todays hectic world no-one has the patience to watch a dravid or a yousuf hot a 100 of 225 balls!!!

I actually did read this news on Cricinfo website and Dravid never said what rediff wants him to say.
rediff is a Feku website and is the "Rakhi Sawant" of all indian news websites. If u rediff guys have guts, publish my message.

There is no need to bring other countries in to cricketing fold.
If India wants to continue its dominance in cricket, then it should be ensured that less countries play it.
Otherwise it will be same as with Hockey and people will forget cricket too.

When the batting is horrible like Dhoni. Dhoni has to wait for good hitting ball. Dhoni has to make sure no wicket keeper in competition succeeds by keeping real competition at distance.

Any challenge for Captaincy is kept a t distance so Dhoni can shift his position in batting order per the wicket situation.

Dravid also a player who can wait for good hitting ball all day. This is why he is unsuitable for 1 dayer and T20.

Dravid has spoken his real mind as what to why we should be careful in preserving test matches.Let the greats of one dayers or 20 /20 players prove their strength in test cricket. shewag is doing excellent. He says even he wants to play more test matches only.all the fast food or junk foods may be tasty initially but simultaneously causing injury to health.

i can also put it in other way.if one day or 20/ 20 not played at all only test matches are there and people are not going to see that is the good thing that can happen to a country as people need not waste that much time & energy in watching these things. productivity will go up.Now what is happening is excess which i feel bad. board is making money but it does not want to pay tax.

i am a cricket fan still advocating all these things.Because it is in the blood from Sobers DAYS first matched i watched in chaupak.
so every thing should be in correct proportion.
