If India wins then they need to try out Mithun and Tyagi
by Nikhil Shah on Feb 23, 2010 08:59 AM

Both Nehra and Zaheer are 31, and the ODI bowling resources are limited as we saw in ODI 1. I think Sreesanth and Ishant should be rested for Tests only. The emergence of Mithun and Tyagi for ODI 3 would be a good experiment to conduct. Both of them are pacy and remains to be seen if they can adjust to the ODI game.

I think I told you before, that you are doing a marvellous job of converting Dhoni opposers into his fans by giving such lopsided, skewed, devoid of logic brainless arguments that are well and truly designed to bring out in every human being "That's not True!" i.e. "Dhoni must actually be good" syndrome..... :)

had he been a keeper he wud never have been in contention.
However, Rohit has failed to capitalize on the ample number of oppurtunites that have been given to him in ODIs.
his average in ODIs(nearly 25) and his strike rate(nearly 72), both are pathetic.

Rohit has been ejected like Kaif and karthik by none other than ....

In Auz, rohit did quite well. He showed how to play them. Dhogi readily tried to ape him because his job was safe due to wicket-keeping.
Ishant gave him practice to play the bouncy auz wickets.

it is wrong when people/media/babuas over-hyppe dhogii,

dhoogi did not build team india,
it was Indian players struggle to stay in XI,
infact dhogi ejected anyone who was his competitor (rohit, karthik, kaif, etc).

Dhoogi just built fort for himself to leech/latch his place into the team, he just latched on.

It looks as though he did something special, which he did not. India lost both the last World 1 dayer and world T20.

They/selectors cannot break/unwind the jinx of Captain-WK and batsmen COMBO tactics that Dhogi has setup fort himself, he shifts his order up/down per his own personal convenience [by using night watch-men, etc].

This fort dhogi has setup is hard to jack. He makes deals, plays politics, etc. and gets away by a fanatic baaabua loooby who is on media, etc
--

it is only srikant who tried to make him comply, but crooked dhoogi gave him a twist and offered him a deal and carrot instead.

Dhoni says that Karthick is a better fielder
by vathula on Feb 23, 2010 08:42 AM  | Hide replies

Dhoni has gone on record saying that Dinesh Karthick (DK) is a better fielder than him. That is the reason he keeps. However, he is silent on who is the better 'keeper'. Kirmani has gone on record commenting about Dhoni, so has Ian Healy. recently, when Farokh Engineer was asked abt Dhoni's keeping, he kept saying that Dhoni is a good captain, he is a smart batsman but refused to say anything on his keeping.

Dinesh Karthick: He has done reasonably well; neither great nor bad. However, he has been used as a joker in the pack. when there are no openers, use Karthick. when you want to protect Sehwag (in SAfrica) or a few others, send in DK. Dhoni has not been fair to him.
Irfan Pathan: His speed has come down from 135 to 115 now. If the ball does not swing, then he will be mince meat. Praveen Kumar is not fast but he is smart, much smarter than Irafn Pathan. Neverthelss, Irfan should be given a chance but only in a dead rubber match.

As per u he is at a disadvantage as he is not a wicket keeper. but, that one place is blocked by ur favorite keeper Dhoni and no way can he replace him.
So, if Rohit is to b in hte team then he has to look at the other 6 batting positions. But, he is not good enough of that also.

If rohit and karthik cannot choose their batting order and if they r made to bat at a position in which they r not comfortable, not good enough to do the job then they shud actually b not playing and b bold enough to say no to Dhoni and selectors.

also, if every one had a say in the order in which they were to bat then in there would not have been any batsmen for teh 5,6 7 position in ODIs.

by E darwin on Feb 23, 2010 05:52 AM  | Hide replies

Good you asked me this question.

to answere your question,

wicket-keeping rotation should be fair, Dhoni was NEVER INITIALLY SCRUTINIZED FOR HIS BATTING only (unlike Rohit, Yuvi, etc),
he had that unfair advantage,

So selectors should give that unfair advantage to new wicket-keepers who will be rotated as well. Though we want them to improve.

I have no other concern about that person except wk. Captaincy should also have chance for rotation as well.

Dhogi scaraped through by various means to learn more, that unfair advantage should also go to new wicket-keepers that are tried.

I am glad you asked this question

we need a good wicket-keeper as well, Karthik gives us scope/gateway to rotate and bring new wicket-keepers WHO ARE BEING KILLED/blocked TODAY.

So it will be a fair rotation.

I understand that selectors are blocked on deal of keeping Karthik as untried wicket-keeper and none other given a chance due to karthik out there.
