what praveen kumar, nehra and sudeep tyagi, dinesh kartik, r ashwin have done in domestic cricket to get selected in odi team which irfan, kaif, agarkar and parthiv not done? irfan, kaif and agarkar and parthiv have done very well in domestic cricket this season they r not getting chances just because they r not from south zone (read srikant's zone) or north zone (read dhoni's zone)?
all the players i mentioned above have international experience and are the players in form. they are good fielders, bowlers and batsman. hope they get selected once south zone players get dropped once srikanth committie changes..

DK has been consistently scoring big hundreds in the zonal matches, his performance in the last 6 ODI's has an average of 33 plus. Ashwin is among wickets and he is also a useful bat lower down the order. Please remember that all the selection policy in under criticism after the 1st test loss at Nagpur. Irfan and Kaif certainly deserves a place.

Reddy Garu, By the way How many Andhra Players performed at International Level, compared to Tamil Nadu, incase you want to center on regionalism. Any harm in naming a young Tamil year spinner just because Bhajji has opted. By the way, chances of him in the playing eleven are remote. Also, do you have an alternate guy from AP to be recommended. I'll forward his name so long as he is not your son :)

Catalyst - Azzu and Laxman are from Andhra. Tell me how many Tamil Nadu players performed well at international level. Lot of TN players played for india. Even so called great Srikanth average is in 20's only even though he played for india for 20 years.I didn't any quality players from TN.

Good info Reddy. But then I know that apart from Srikanth, Murali Vijay as well as Badrinath are in the playing eleven today , and are there owing to their domestic performances. On the bowling front ( Ashvin being a spinner ) we've had Venkat as well as Laxman Shivramakrishnan. And yes Karthik, Hemang Badani, Sadagoppan Ramesh, L Balaji etc also comprise the league. The point again being it does not matter whether one is Tamil or Telgu, performance will count. If the lad is good he'll play, otherwise he'll vanish. And before anyone develops ideas, I am neither from TN, nor ever been there in my lifetime. Just putting my view.

Govind - iam just against the regional feelings. As long as the players are quality players, they can be selected. Ashwin and Karthik are not that material and they are not the future. Ashwin was not even part of South Zone team.

This team is the perfect choice to play against SA bcoz of their current form. Don't criticise selectors..their only mistake recently is happen in the Nagpur Test.. that also not only their mistake. If a state have 10 or 11 players who have talent to play in the top stage, who cares the public...
For eer one remembers Gavaskar - not for his batting exploits - but a profound statement -Slectors are a bunch of jokers. Keep it up .It is a tough job all the same - riddled with regionalism ,caste ,creed ,sect - what not favourites of various members . Over the years the game is going to die - because with this type of selection -talented players will be afraid to take the game for a living .Alternative of more secure and sure professions will be prefered. only 2 players are from Tamil nadu..that too ashwin got a chance bcoz harbhajan is not available...look at how many guys are from delhi..why dont you say that it is Delhi vs SA..you kind of guys really idiots and dont allowed to watch cricket and should be out of country as you are not considering everybody as indians....
