dhogi IS BHIKARI WHO LOOKS OUT FOR best situation for himself and also does a nexxus with selectors also,

with vijay and badrinath in team, he will also trade with srikant for karthik to do flip-flop if there is pressure on his position...

SAHA was got in and never asked to do wicketkeeping, there were better batsmen as well if it were batting...

SUCH IS THE NEXXUS, DEAL MAKING AND POLITICS OF SELECTIONS.

they are least ashamed, dhoogi is looking at is ugly face in mirror about what talk in case there is a tomato thrown.

sehwag did just to being dropped around 50. not to say that amla was not dropped.

Dhoni chooses his batting position conveniently according to the situation. Avoid the tough situation and bat when things are comfortable.

He could have used a Nightwatchman after the fall of 4th wicket. he wanted a regular batsman Badrinath to be exposed to last few minutes of the day, but wanted to protect himself.

Buddy, now don't jump to conclusions. Badrinath always come ahead of dhoni in test matches, so where is the question of dhoni coming in earlier? Again, when badri came in, there was lot of time left,so there is no question of sending in a night watchman. The simple fact was badri was founbd wanting against top pace and lost his wicket.

I would never say Dhoni should come ahead of a regular batsman in any form of the game except as a tactical idea for scoring quickly as he used to do earlier.

I kinda agreee with you but I think the game stopped early becoz og bad light..Still Dhoni should be knowing weather forecast and should hve taken it into account..he does mistakes like this many times plus he is not really good utilising his resourses when the team takes field. He is good batsman, not good captain..Just happened to be lucky one...hope he learns sooner and better

Kris Srikkanth's influenced TN players M. Vijay & Badrinath have wasted opportunities given to them.

Some Mumbai Ranaji players were more deserving than these two lucky goats.

Badrinath scored 250 against Mumbai only last month, which was more than any Mumbai cricketers, if that was your concern. But I suggest those who criticise selection look at domestic matches other than IPL.

Buddy, players who have been successful in domestic matches have been found wanting against international teams. Hence, it is not merely the runs u score but alos the skills displayed and how score them. If one can't dominate a domestic attack, then how would he survive an international attack? Badri has limited strokes and needs to improve his strokeplay if he is to be successful. I would prefer pujara or manish pandey who not only score big, but also dominate an attack. We should not merely support a player simply because he is from our zone.

It is not a question of zonal bias. You don't need to play all the strokes to be successful in longer duration version. Pujara is a good bet and should be considered. But his getting into the team was delayed by the serious injury he had last year. Even he failed to play well against the SA team in the first class match. Let Manish Pandey be successful in first class matches consistently for some time. Test batting is not easy. Even Yuvraj has found it difficult to rise to the demand. Temparament is equally important.

Boss, i agree temprament is important, but u need to score runs too in test matches. Now if u can't dominate against local bowlers, u woudn't be able to survive against top teams. As i have written, merely scoring tons of runs in domestic tournaments is not enough. Pujara failed in just one match, but his range of shots and temparament is enough proof. Now, Badri too has failed here in the kolkata test. So, by your logic he too should be dropped! Coming to the point, u can't just defend and hope to be successful. Badri has limited strokes, i would be extremely surprised if he were to be successful so long he does not improve his stroke play.

You will have to give chance, else you will not be able to make winning team for future. Gambhir, Raina were given chances before they matured. Badrinath batted well in first test and made 62 when the top order had collapsed.

Raina and gambhir had all the strokes in their armoury and what they lacked was temparament, now they have both. Now badri has only temparament, but limited strokes. Now, temparament would come with maturity, but a guy lacking skills and stroke making ablilties would not be able to develop it even if he has the temparament. Thst is the difference. Whyt was sachin selected at the age of 15? Simply because he had enormous skills although he was too young even for college! So look for guys with skills and not just temparament.

Tendulkar scored century on debut in Ranji, Duleep and Irani Trophy matches. He showed that he was upto any challenge even before he was considered for India. Tendulkar earned the place not just because he was young.

One can not compare Sachin and Dravid with others. When these guys played their very first Test series, it showed that they have the right attitude and they played for ever after that. Nobody has shown the same level of commitment in the present generation. I have nothing to do with Badrinath or Vijay, but wanted to say that they were chosen because of their performances in domestic cricket. Even in the first innings of last Test, Badri played well. Pujara also has shown good temparament so far. He should be the next one to be considered for Tests.

You can again witness this in IPL3 for Chennai Super Kings.

by vijay on Feb 15, 2010 07:40 PM

Ten (10) dulkar plays for records.

others,

one (1) foolkar plays for his career.

Ten dulkar equals 10 players.

one foolkar can't equal over 100 crore players.

and still,

Ten dulkar plays for records.

as if,

nothing is left for him to play for.

records have become too small and common for him leave alone batting.

while for others,

surviving have become mountains to climb and too rare, leave alone playing cricket.

commenting on sachin is like showing light to sun.

and,

we indians have the habbit of digging the very thaali (utensil) we eat in.

Alas,nothing more can be said.....

Had Sachin hit 4 back to back tripple hundreds what would your argument then be? as always i am sure you will have something to say...lol

What would you prefer once in a blue moon tripple hundred or consistency.

Despite not hitting a single 3 hundred in his career and not too many doubles he still manages an avg over 55.

awaiting your interesting comments on this ..you are funny man ;)

When Sachin and Sehwag were batting all the S.African bowlers looks ordinary like Non test playing nation bolwers. After their dismissals Steyn is firing in and got badrinath alreay.Harris is mixing it up and got almost LAxman out.
Is the pitch changed or the excellence of Sehwag/Sachin shown there????

They would had got Sehwag at 47(easy catch dropped by Duminy) and then a simple stumping chance.

They also had a good chance of getting Tendulkar run out when he was not even his 40s. If SA had availed these opportunities, they would had been on the top.

But there is no cure/excuse for missing easy opportunities. One missed opportunity provides the opponent to break records. In 1985 in a match against England, some Indian player dropped Gooch at 36. The same player then went on to make 333 n.o.

Even when Amla and Peterson were batting, Indian bowlers looked like club standard bowlers. After tea, the SA team engineered a self destruction and suddenly Zaheer and Bhajji became world class.
