Zaheer is the only credible 'quasi-pace bowler' this country has. As for big-mouth Bhajji- it's about time he earned his place on the team. Incidentally, I've wondered about the total absence of any mention of the present Winter Olympic Games in Vancouver, and then it struck me- India doesn't do "Olympics" so why bother even reporting on it. Besides if they did, they'd have to reports China's many successes, so less said the better in this here land of losers.
This selection committee led by Sreekanth has set a low standard. The indian test team lacks bench strength - when it comes to the following category,
a. Batsmen
Selection committee has no answer. They have been dalying with Karthik and never looked beyond him. So, it remains a one-man army.
Now, they have picked the worst of the lot,
a. Rohit Sharma: Doenst have the common sense to stop playing football 15 minutes from the start of a match. Has talent. Lacks brain power. The guy needs to be shown the door and should be considered only when he scores century after century in the domestic tournaments.
Suresh Raina: Sitting duck for Steyn and other fast bowlers. Should be an easy first ball duck. That the selection committee included a guy that has been averaging a patentics 35 runs per match in the domestic tournaments is something. This guy cannot even score a 100 in the domestics. Sreekanth's committee has included this guy! Need I say more!
Vijay and Bhadhri: We will remain neutral, as these two need a few chances to prove themselves.
Yuvraj Singh: He struggles when playing tests. Seems hopeless.
Deserving people People left out:
Mohammed Kaif: Batsman that has international experience and a test material. He has a double hundread and a hundread in recent matches. Not even considered?
Irfan Pathan:
The bowling allrounder that india needs. Class batsman.

this message must be frm a tamil guy....supporting Badri and Murali..
What is sensational is these curator morons that dont get it. That BCCI is allowing these morons to play with the result of a series is the problem.
Foriegn teams that are weak playing spin will always be cry babies - like South Africa is and the Aussies are. How many of these test nations prepare a sporting wicket that has both spin and pace - when india tours them?
India has every right to prepare a turning track. I would remove Mukerjee and all such curator morons and bring in a national curator team.

Zaheer was good but we need a more effective bowling attack to be in the top 3 in tests

zaheer bowled exceptionally well,he was the one who broke that crucial partnership between amla and petersen.he is the only bowler showing consistency, which harbahjan and ishant are lacking .it can be seen in previous matches and also in coming matches ,for which they will be surely selected.
Even though we've managed to get 9 wickets today, I think it was a wrong idea to go into a test match with just 4 bowlers. Look at Aussies and SA. They always have 5 bowlers, the 5th one being a Kallis or a Shane Watson like solid allrounder. It is high time India look to groom quality allrounders into the team, who could bat at No.6 or 7 positions. From the current lot, even though we don't have any one comparable to Kallis /Watson/ Flintoff or even a Shakib or Vettori , let's at least try out with the likes of Raveendra Jadeja or Abhishek Nayar or Irfan Pathan. If we don't do this for our test team and get genuine allrounders in our playing eleven, then we can never become comparable to the Aussies or SA. We can't just rely on the glory of Sachin or Dravid, who will retire soon.
KOLKATA: In a sensational disclosure, a Bengali daily on Saturday claimed that the Indian team sent Sachin Tendulkar with a request to Eden Gardens curator Prabir Mukherjee that he should shave the grass off the pitch for the second Test between India and South Africa, starting on Sunday, but it was politely turned down.
Mukherjee has been hogging the limelight over the last few days with a section of the media abuzz with reports that he had refused to entertain requests from the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) for preparing a turner to suit Indian spinners.
India are trailing 1-0 in the two-Test series and are in a must-win situation not only to save the series but to retain their number one slot in world Test rankings.
Interestingly, India were in the same situation two years ago when South Africans outplayed them in Ahmedabad, and won the second Test at Kanpur on a rank turner to level the series. The South Africans raised a stink over the pitch and lodged a protest with International Cricket Council (ICC).
Bengal daily reported that Tendulkar approached Mukherjee with the request on Friday only to be told by the octogenarian, "You are Sachin Tendulkar and the quality of your batting will not be affected whether there is grass on the wicket or not." Tendulkar then replied that he had come to speak to him on behalf of the team management. "It will be better if the grass is removed".

Hope our players will show the same intensity in nxt 4 days and win this test match. Test championship win is big, any team has to play consistently well for that. Test is cricket real test for cricketing abilities , Unlike t20 which requires more luck than cricketing skills..
