Harbhajan should play only in Eden Gardens venue .. as he gets wicket only there .... for rest of teh world venues, he is useless....

this itself is weird! there are 5 selectors from 5 zones and 1 chairman of selectors who has never been a selector before! why the selection committee is based on zonal-wise??? and a chairman of selector should always be like a promotion for the selectors....so even selectors feel motivated to go for the selector post....instead chairman of selectors is randomly picked even if he was not a selector before!!!

India being a very big country we need to have 5 selectors (with utmost integrity) assigned to 5 zones. However, the selectors must be selected by the BCCI not by the zonal bodies. In that case they will be accountable to BCCI only not to their zonal bosses.

zonal based selectors itself is a disaster.....it will be politics and only politics.....a bowling selector will be selecting the best batsman!!! a batsman who has no idea abt bowling (like srikanth) is selecting bowlers for the country!!! this should go....thats why we need 5 selectors based on the 5 aspects of cricket and not on 5 zones!!! the zonal-wise has miserably failed anyways

What are the 5 aspects? Opening batsman, Middle order batsman, Wicketkeeper, Fast Bowling, Spin Bowling?

i meant no opening or middle order batsman...just one batsman....the other slot is for allrounder....the rest ur list is also fine....see my another breative list below

Why not select players based on popular vote(something on the lines of the election of US president)? This will eliminate zonal/regional bias and also reflect true democracy in sports.

Why not a foreign selector? when you can have foreign coach, physio,etc. Certainly their selection will be unbiased

Good idea. Why not stretch the idea further and have our cricket board consisting of only foreigners? It is another matter that the board will ask that the spectators should only be foreigners then.

instead of zonal-wise selectors, it should be player-wise selectors
1. best spinner like venkatraghavan or bedi or kumble 2. best pacer like kapil or srinath 3. best batsmen like sandeep patil or viswanath or gavaskar 4. best wicketkeeper like kirmani or kiran more or farook engineer 5. CHAIRMAN OF SELECTORS - best all rounder like kapil or mohinder amarnath
each of the selectors will then be held accountable and the zonal-wise politics in selection will not happen

venkatraghvan ... will favour players from south bedi... will want more players from north srinath... more players from south gavaskar... more players from mumbai kiran more... wont have any idea who to pick farookh engineer... more minority players vishwanath/kapil/mohinder/kirmani/ patil would be unbiased and pick team based upon performance...

but the selectors should never be zonal based like it is now....for each department in cricket, there should be the best available retired players from the same field so that they can identify a gud talent
bhajji will b going to play next 10 test matches just on the basis of this performance and after 10 match he will again pick 3 wickets in an inning and will continue till he dies

I think it has got more to do with the attitude and the aggressiveness. The moment ishant was aggressive and increased his pace, he was impressive. Hope dhoni and co realise this and not insist on merely line and length which would get him nowhere!
Honestly I feel ashamed.Bloody Srikanth and his colleaues(Selection committee) are nothing but a bunch of JOKERS,Can those jokers tell us why they selected Mithun and Thyagi and drop them for next matches and looked upto Srishant,is 12th man is also eligible to play.you people are headless,i THOUGHT AS A TAMILIAN you are super intelligent but you are as a dunce..bloody guys Bharath -Coorg
