The search for an Express Fast bowler goes on. We have seen the likes of Ishant, Munaf, Sreesanth, RP , but none of these guys could retain their reputations after a series or two. I wonder what went wrong with them. I strongly feel either they were misguided or are complacent. I also wonder how in a 100 billion population and cricket crazy nation have not found a genuine fast bowler who could bowl 150 kph consistenly. Is there something wrong with our talent search process?

Pallab, the problem is very simple. They didnt have enough fuel in their tank to clock the 140km - 150km speed consistently. An average Indian adult does nothing but to advertise malnutrition. Same was the case with Ishant, Sreesanth, Munaf and the like. Take the instance of Ishant and Sreeanth , their lower part of the body was just too weak to carry the brunt and pressure of real fast bowling and they failed. They were bound to. The correct idea would have to have a genuine bowling coach for them who can train them and assist them in strengthening and overcome their weaknesses. This department is under Mr Venkatesh Prasad and I am sure he can do any good to the current crop of bowlers. The need of the hour is Allan Donald, Glenn Mcgrath, Courtney Walsh, Ambrose and the like. Their persistence with Venkatesh is costing India of a real and genuine fast bowler. I wonder If BCCI is that much cash rich , whu dont they just shell out some more dollars on a bowling coach.

Problem is also with parents and general society behavior. I myself was passionate about this game, but was suppressed for pursuing engineering. I have seen many extremely talented guys from middle class families wanting to pursue career in sports/arts, but are supressed by parents for education. And the result is right in front of us - Not just cricket, take any other game in olympics, India is struggling. Hope the movies like 3 idiots well transform the consciousness level of parents. Every one can not be a doctor on engineer - someone has to be sportsmen, actor, soldier, politician...
Where are all those who criticized Chapell for saying that India lacks quality bowlers hence cannot remain No. 1? I had mentioned the same thing in the forums before that India has never won a series in Aus and SA so India despite what the rankings say is not the best team in the world.
Sachin Tendulkar OUT 100 RUNS. That says it all. That guy only cares about his personal records rhat often come when we are already out of the match and no pressure what so ever. He can never win us anything big.Just remembered the ODI innings he played agnst Aus recently.PATHETIC.

U r blasting him as if you are the one who could have won this match for India...
Its a game...somebody looses..somebody wins. Now go and study!!
On a wicket where South Africa amased 568 runs for the loss of only 6 wickets, India lost 20 wickets in less the time South Africa batted. This shows the lack of application of all our batsman. Particularly the lower middle order seem to be absent. No batsman lower down the order showed any application to stay on the wicket. But no one can take away the credit from the South African players for their committment and flawless execution of their plans on the field. Dale Setyn was superb. Feels like South Africa are on a way to 2-0 victory.
they just won matches against WI,Srilanka, and Bangladesh. at the same time, lost T20 world cup, champions trophy, and the aussie tour (and none of indian teams made it to the last 4 in champions league). really aussies having a better system
