The performance of seniors(batsmen)/ juniors (bowlers)and calmness of him have contributed much for the success of the captaincy of Dhoni.

Why should sachin retire
by vadlamudi srinivas on Dec 30, 2010 02:30 PM  | Hide replies

I am not a Sachin fan, i see him as a very good player with limitations (every cricketer or human being will have them).

Whats wrong with you all still he is able to crack centuries if not only runs, and at times he is able to win matches for us (may be not all the times when required like Sehwag, Laxman and very few others).

He did cross his prime time but still having a player who scores an average of 40-70 everytime is an asset to the team that anybody else.

Guys, if there are replacements for Sachin and he is unable to cope with teams demands, dont you think he will take a graceful exit.

Think about one thing, he is still scoring runs that is what you need as an batsman.

Coming to the records matter, that is upto him as an individual and the selectors

Posting a comment is a simple thing but proving it is tough, like Sachin in his current form is comparable to any youngster, what do you say

Atleast in tests Sachin, Sehwag, Laxman, Dravid who are in good form towards the end of their careers except Sehwag, thats why many tests are won and drawn.

Most notably Pace bowling with Zaheer and Sreesanth is a cracker in last few years mainly outside

Saurav Ganguly too was making runs though not in centuries towards the later part of his career, yet he was forced to call it a day. Why not bring him back. His replacements have not justified their inclusion in the team. Same should apply in Sachin's case, isn't it?

Thanks for understanding my point clearly but Sourav struggled to get in his last few years whereas
Sachin is performing sometimes equal to an youngster, Sourav is now way near that, not even dravid or laxman in one dayers

Team India Won
by Maximum on Dec 30, 2010 02:28 PM

Including sachin dravid and Laxman
its there experience that helped india

People who dont understand cricket would like to blabber anything

Team has to be mixture of old running and new

It cannot be off balance

Today Sachin Deserves position in Seniors
I hope any sane member would not deny that considering the current form of highest run getter in last year

Again the argument of he playing for records or centuries he and dravid comes one or two down where the player is not suppossed to take chances but steady the innigs he is doing the exact role required
People talk about retirement easy to pass judgement than perform at the highest level
any way who is going to listen to barking dogs

Tendulkar has improved under Dhoni's captancy
by vivek sharma on Dec 30, 2010 02:21 PM  | Hide replies

If Tendulkar has performed above average in last 2 years it is because Dhoni has used him in best possible ways. Dhoni has also shared some batting tips with Tendulkar which has made him a better player

Certainly Sachin fans will irk with this statement, but Sachin has improved quite dramatically over last 2 years after Sanjay manjrekar and some body else's comments.

Your statement is factually incorrect except for a teaser

Dhoni's greatness
by GIRISH MENON on Dec 30, 2010 02:20 PM

Nothing great about his achievement. After all most of his victories have come on the Indian soil. See his record overseas. 1 each in SL, Bangladesh,NZ & SA. Instead of basking in the glory of being one of the most successful Indian captains he must try to win more matches overseas and ensure that we do not have the reputation of being called paper tigers.

Sachin Fans are Loosers!
by Rooney Mathews on Dec 30, 2010 01:33 PM  | Hide replies

1. No doubt he's a great player for 2 decades. but there is a little bit of difference with other players.
Sachin is hungry for runs, but players like VVS, Dhoni, Raina, Sehwag, Zack are hungry for WIN.
when sachin gets out on 99, see his face lol....like somebody has taken out his kidney.

See Dhoni's attitude on field...personal score doesn't mean anything at all for him. whether he gets a 100
or 40 odd, doesn't matter, your score should contribute towards team's victory only!
Dhoni is a great match finisher for past 4-5 years. In similar situation, Sachin will throw away his wicket.

2. Indian media is sachin baised. only sachin, sachin.... when you will be "TEAM INDIA" baised lol?
Shame on you!

3. Why these idiots come up with stats of sachin from 2 decades ago, when some true criticism has been made lol?
PAST-RECORDS DOESN'T MEAN ANYTHING. CRICKET IS A TEAM GAME AND TEAMS ATTITUDE, SPIRIT & COMBINED EFFORT IS MUCH MORE IMPORTANT
THAN INDIVIDUAL SCORES. We WON 2nd test because of just that : A SUPREME COMBINED TEAM EFFORT!

Hi Rooney! you are pathetic, horrible and awkward. You admitted that such is hungry for run and he gets run. wouldn't that be counted in the team total? or it absolutely counted only to Sachin. You don't recognize his value in Indian team. When he scores everyone in the team gets motivation so dhoni comes at 6th goes after the bowler. That's natural. And tell me one more thing how many batsmen in the world cricket opened, didn't get out and won the match single handed? it's rare buddy.

CONTINUED.............

4. Time has now come for Sachin to retire! Look at greats like Shane Warne, Gilly, Mc Grath, Lara, Inzamam, Jayasuriya....
even our own VVS Laxman.......when they feel its the time, they retired from ODI/Tests! thus allowed fresh young talented players
to represent the country. But Sachin is different, he says "its his passion for cricket" rofl...."its passion for money &
publicity"......he says he will continue till 2016 worldcup........what an idiot lol! at least have some shame!
Don't make your fans fool!

5. Shaun Pollock was spot on. Indians in SA were asked by Indian media before 1st test : "What they want to see?"
Public answered : "Sachin scores 100 & SA wins" : nobody wanted India to WIN there, what a shame!

as per shaun pollock, Sachin & his records will be kept in meuseum and public will see....lol....

SO SACHIN'S BLIND FANS....GO GET A LIFE, AND AS AN INDIAN, IF POSSIBLE, CHEER FOR "TEAM INDIA" FIRST.
BUT YOU IDIOTS SIMPLY CAN'T DO THAT BCUS YOU ALL ARE LIKE MNS WORKERS...WHO DOESN'T KNOW MEANING OF "NATIONALISIM"
ONLY SING "MI MARATHI" 24x7 ....LOLZ....YOU ALL COMMUNAL INSECTS !

VVS, Rahul still want to play ODI but the board did not give them chance because they could not adjust to the need of ODI matches, whereas there are young players who can play better than these veterans in ODI, Conversely, those young players were not given chance in tests because they cannot match these veterans in test matches. But, see sachin who can adjust to the needs of both forms of the game and even we have seen him score in T20 matches (IPL), so it is the versatility that makes him great among other players.
In the case of match winning effort, I also felt sometimes that sachin is not often a match winner as we see in the case of VVS. But, I think everybody play for the country and the team's win. Sachin has the same blood u and me have and we should not suspect his patriotism. there is nothing wrong in continue playing as long as he keeps fit and scores runs - finding a suitable replacement for sachin is a difficult one....Hope I am not offending you

Why you are pin pointing Sachin only. He atleast scoring centuries. What about the new "young talents"? What we doing with the bowling side? Atleast Sachin is providing his part talentfuly. It is upto him to decide to retire or not as he is performing great. I will support you if the Sachin is continuously failing with his bat. So Go on Sachin Play well and I am sure he his playing for Team India.
