only wins can`t give the true picture.Matches played,Won,Drawn and lost will give true picture.even more matches are won it`s not Dhoni`s greatness but Team has whole contributed lot with exceptional performances from Dravid,Laxman,Tendulkar,Sehwag and a few good bowlers.

Dhoni's guidance -Joke of the .......
by Bharat on Dec 30, 2010 03:09 PM  | Hide replies

Victory has nothing to do with dhoni or his captaincy skills. regarding guiding - first he himself should learn how play.
Above article is simply a promotional campaign handled by his PR firm & sports manager.

Where were his skills and Guidance in the First Match.
Its other players hard work which is responsible for win - He is just lucky to have such kind of team.

bharat, yes, dhoni could get good team to excel,But Who tied sachin or other captains hands or selection comitees hands when others were captains, afterall its motivating team mates to play and win for india, not to come at no. 3 position and throw bats on evry balls on indian pitches ,then sure u will make lots of runs,u cant expect no. 10 player to make batting records.

Ok just to prove my point - select any neutral player ( though dhoni is baised- example Pathans,Munaf exclusion,Favour of RP & Raina etc.) and you will get same kind of win & performances - he is not a guiding force - a guiding force is one which can lead by example have enough records /performances to his credit.

Lets change captain - i am sure with this team ( minor changes required ) and coach India can win world cup too.

Motivating factors are coach & othe seniors in the team but not atleast Mr. Dhoni. Shud concentrate on his Wicket keeping And Bating otherwise soon you will forget he was there in team.

when india got mini world cup under his captaincy without sachin , saurav, dravid, laxman etc.. it was called pure luck, now it is called due to all above player. He is now 2nd best captain india ever have after saurav, he has a best record as wicket keeper batsman, he is performing as good wicket keeper also. Why anybody is feeling problem in giving credit to him what he desrves.

The biggest problem with Sachin bashers is they are comparing Sachin with Sachin most of the times, and thats where the negative points in Sachin will come out

Please understand Sachin is also a good cricketer like many others but we only made him god doing relative comparisions but finally proved his achievements are not absolute, because he is one among great cricketers and not everybody else

But I respect him for his unrelenting commitment for the game...
In the process if he's breaking records and making tonnes of money, then he definitely deserves it...
I dont know what people mean by saying he plays for self and not for the country... WTF does that mean???
Is their anybody here who really works for the country? Everybody works of themselves... and its a normal thing to do... but those of us who are exceptions in their respective trades (like Sachin is in Cricket) bring fame and respct to their countrymen.

Those who dislike Sachin, are either psychos or have some other serious mental issues, and they really need help.

My vote yes
Important points
1) Is anybody in India or in this world works really for country without working for themselves, VERY FEW, Sachin need not be among them. He is a normal human being

2) Why we need to bash a good
cricketer like Sachin, as a
human being may be he is having
his limitations as you all say.
3) Why cannot we seek solace and
wisdom by leaving to him which
is best for him and the country

Sachin is a person who always plays for his records not for the country. He is very selfish. Its been a fact that whenever Sachin scores a century in a match India looses and there is no use for that knock. He will not play under pressure. Look at his celebrations after scoring a century in Centurian Test match. India was in a pathetic situation during that time. But he celebrates his century....Sach a selfish player.

it was a celebration on his 50th century. It was his Dads B'day. Rajappan put yourself in Sachins shoes for that feat. Wont you say a small prayer to your father if it was your 50th Test Century scored in South Africa when India was in a precarious situation. When nobody else in the team was able to score a century. That Century helped India to get momentum back into the series. What do you expect him to send apologies to you for scoring a deserving century????

Ashaji, I did not understand "he is ordinary good batsman". Some figures you would like to consider - his average in tests is 56.54 which is currently better than any of his contemporaries. FYI (a little lesson in stats)the high average indicates that he is consistent in scoring. He has played 1471 matches of which 619 were international matches - which indicates he has a passion for the game, hence he has kept himself fit by sacrificing a life of ease & enjoyment (example Mr. Kambli). At the age of 37 he practices the hardest - read Gary Kirsten's comment. Regarding Dry flat pitches ?? Balls do spin...he has played Shane Warnes, Murali, Tausif Ahmed and a no. of Pakistani spinners and he has scored runs against them....so what is your point....he has scored centuries in Australia, West Indies, South Africa ....and sure that they were not dry flat pitches...so what figures do you have to support your theory that he is an ordinary batsmen....Don Bradman, Dennis Lille, Brian Lara, Viv Richards, Ponting, Javed Miandad, Shane Warne, Jayasurya (the list can go on) have all acknowledged his briliance...so what makes you say that he is ordinary? If he is not brilliant...show me any person in any field who is brilliant. My question why do you not want to acknowledge his brilliance....?? Hv you ever sacrificed to follow your dreams....if you have not you wont understand what passion to become perfect is all about..!!
