Santosh is absolutely right .. Team work is the only pattern to win any series or cup. Winning a single match can be done by a individual but winning cups is not be a part of single player. REMM first T-20 world cup.. how our team work win the CUP.
Yes, a captain is as good as his team. no one doubts or denies that. naturally however fantastic captain you are, you are not going to win so much if you captain bangladesh team.
But still a good captain makes the best out of the resources available to him. take for example sachin. everybody knows what a big failure he was as a captain. now take a look at the captains before and after him. azhar and ganguly. 2 of our most successful captains. sachin got the same team that azhar had got. see what results he achieved out of that team. ganguly got the same team that sachin had and see what wonders ganguly performed with the same team that sahcin could not.
the point is a good captain can take a good team to a higher level. like dhoni has done. while a bad captain can make even a good team look ordinary. like sachin did.
many people here think that even if we make anybody captain of this team we will still win as often. do you really think that is true?
i dont think if we give this team to captains like wadekar, pataudi, kapil, gavaskar, azhar, sachin, ganguly, dravid, kumble they will be able to win 14 tests out of 23. dhoni has done that. that is the magic of dhoni!
He knows when to make what changes. he knows when to make which move. he takes the right decisions at the right times. others have not been able to do that as consistently and as often as dhoni.

ganguly probably comes up as the next best. but considering the situation then, it was a fine job indeed. As for the Kapil's Devils, we were absolute underdogs in 1983, so every victory was automatically charging up every individual.. even in those days, Gavaskar always had a more "presence" on the field as compared to Kapil. But yes, all said and done, Dhoni has that something special which earns him the respect. And lets not forget his CSK team achievements!

Toss Winning is just a luck. Based on probability. What he can do? In initial period he used to win all the tosses. i think u can remember...
as the IPL starts immediately after the worldcup, which might sway some money minded players from giving their 100% in the worldcup to keep themselves in shape for the IPL!
I was going through BBC sports headlines..read about Indian truimph. And then I saw "Consolation win for Pakistan in T20".. I was like ..why are they still writing about that country.. it just takes the sportive mood away!

yes ur right. even the mohali test this year is a good example. india has won in india only coz of umpires. if they lose in foreign soil they will cry.
