TOSS

Toss is a pure LUCK!
And so, winning a test match in such rain hit pitches is merely a luck and not a skill. So, No,1 INDIA nee3d not be disheartened and players shouold keep their chin up. And SA team need not bask in vain glory as they are doing now. And tyhe media (aqnd the SA commentators) need not add to the vain glory.

Soon, luck could change and Dhoni would win tosses!!

idiot what sachin has to do it. each and every match people love thrashing sachin as if only he is playing. the day he gets retire all so called walls, young brigade will come down crashing. india will be no better than WI. Infact in bowling we are not even now. its batting which holds the team. BTW on helping pitch to face bowler bowling at excess of 90 miles per hour and swinging is not easy. it pitch continues to behave like this and score of 250-300 will be good. then its bowler who need to do the job. On helping track its how you bowl wihch dictate terms.

by girish pulicherla on Dec 27, 2010 06:20 AM

toss plays an important role in this type of wickets but sadly dhoni is very unlucky in winning tosses and making the batsmen job more difficult bowlers are not getting the chnace to bowl on firstday's wicket maybe dhoni should go to azhar for a crash course for winning tosses he is the best in winning tosses.

India's dillema

Indian bowlers cannot take 20 South African wickets, but South Africa can take 20 Indian wickets and score more runs than India. It is hard to blame the Indian batsmen because of some outstanding bowling by Steyn,Morkel and Tsotsobe and some overconfident shots by Indian batsmen. Luck is deserting Dhoni and India. South African seamers are bowling at their best at home.

Doomsday for Indian cricket
by Indian on Dec 27, 2010 02:27 AM  | Hide replies

Previously Sehwag used to wreak havoc and nobody used to know how brittle our Indian middle order is. Now Sehwag is not scoring and our middle order is badly exposed. The fav 3 are not scoring and the writing is clear on the wall. Not only will Indis lose its no.1 status (which is not very important) but the future of Indian batting looks bleak. There are no replacements in sight for the "fav 3". God help Indian cricket.

It's not as bad as you think . We did get 460 odd in the second innings of the last test despite Sehwag getting out for 63 . We just came up against some good bowling on a very helpful pitch . If we had first use of the pitch , SA would also have struggled . There are also quite a few replacements in sight for the big 3 though they need to be blooded in slowly . If you want names - here's a few - Rahane , Manish Pandey , Rayudu , Abhinav Mukund , Manoj Tiwary , Saurabh Tiwary . These are besides the few like Pujara , Raina , Rohit Sharma , Uthappa who are either in the side or nearby .

Tit for tat
by Jay on Dec 27, 2010 01:06 AM  | Hide replies

My fellow Indians, team India will ALWAYS continue to struggle overseas. It's an unwritten law in world cricket. The same can be said of SA whenever they tour India. They struggle against our spinners on turning tracks. Their fast bowlers are useless on flat Indian highways. So it's a zig-zag affair. India are strong at home and SA are strong in their conditions. Nobody can change that and I suggest we as fans should accept Indian defeat even before ball one. Please use some common sense people... this very same group of guys especially the middle order of Sachin, Dravid, and Laxman have been useless in SA in their last 3 tours. How can we even expect them to shine this time around. The Indian team needs a BRAND NEW middle order. I don't care even if we keep losing with a young team but these 3 guys should graciously retire. Enough is enough !!!
