this shows ur poor knowledge, both in cricket and in mathematics... In tests, there are 2 innings, and the avg. is also calculated based on no. of Innings, and not by no. of matches.. do whatever arithmetic you want to do, but the fact that he's a great player still remains :)

for ur info 29% almost 30% 100 in tests is quite good.. it's not that 50% or 60% 100s in tests is considered good, coz barring bradman no other batsmen who played that long that 176 tests has got 28.6% 100s ratio.. coz ponting 39 in 150 means 26%, kallis 38 in 144 means 26.4%, gavaskar 34 in 125 means 27.2%, lara 34 in 131 means 26%, steve waugh 32 in 168, 19%.. sehwag 22 in 85 25.9%.. sobbers 26 in 93 27.95%.. so that's all
Am wainting for ur 50 ODI century too .. make it soon and do it in the world cup in india ...wish sachin will the top scorer in the world cup ..al the best

cricket was not that hard at DON's time..he played basically against ENGLAND & few matches against 2-3 more oppositions hardly.. 52 matches in span of 20 years where sachin more than thrice i.e. 3 times test matches alone in the same played, 176th in 21 years.. cosidering so tough so competitive cricket & so many cricket, T20s, ODIs, IPL , injury scares always considering all these facts, 57 avg now-a-days is almost equivalent to that magical 99.94 avg & mainly DON played against only one opposition ENGLAND so he became used to the bolwing attack against him..
ya wish him 50 ODI 100s as well, even if he scores 47 or 48 100s he will still remain great.. 100 100s in international he should definately score, should..
over 50 100s over 15000 test runs , over 18000 ODI runs with 48 or may be 50 100s.. wow..
with 33500 or a bit more than that runs with 100 odd 100s in 22-23 yrs.. woooooooooow

75 100s in test is arbitrary number even if he would have been in AUS team & INDIAN would have been in the receiving end, then may be he would have finished with 57-58 100s in 185-190 matches which now almost same he will finish with with hopefully 53-54 100s atleast coz 60 or more 100s in tests we can't even imagine even if some all time great plays for 180-185 tests coz we never know DON, if played over 180 tests, whether got over 60 or 65 100s or more like 75 that abstruct figure coz to sustain that 100 per every 2nd test & close to 100 avg is impossible for 180 odd matches, it's possible to sustain that 100 avg & 100s in every 2nd test for 52 tests but not throughtout 180-185 tests or more.. so we are keeping aside comparision with DON..
we fool why are we giving answers to critics. i think we should reply not by words but by act like sachin did. oh no this is also one big thing about sachin.
bashers know only bashing when they criticize sachin they forget everything they don't talk about others. they says sachin makes centuries against weaker sides then in this years he made 7-8 centuries so were they weaker sides.

he performed good in this year and in 1998 only, rest of all knocks is not enough to titled him as greatest. any way he is very good player
Indian blame MSD for captan plus keeper plus he make 1500 runs in last 24 match as out of form which decent for no-7 batsman plus keeper. Poting is captan n imp no-3 batsman made 1650 runs in last 24 match as out of form hehehe so he get result out of other talent like haydo, gilli, lee, johnsen, warne, mcgra, and many more never ending list. 24 match is more than 2 yr of cric. What he do in team?

u r right ponting hardly make 1600 odd runs in last 24 test in last 2 to 3 years @40-41 avg which is quite ordinary in his very high standard he set during 2002-2006, when at the end 2006 his career avg in test was 60 now it is in around 53 like dravid's from over 58 to 52-53 now, where kallis like sachin is flurishing day by day & improving his avg back again into 56-57 which dipped from 57-58 to around 54 at one stage in around 2 years back.. so was sachin's but their avg now almost touching 57 like sanga's over 57..
being no 7 & wk. a career avg of over 40 & strike rate over 60 for over 50 tests is quite good, after gilly, he has the best batting overall avg & strike rate in recent times, only no of 100s he is lagging way behind of gilly (a mere only 4 compare to 17) coz gilli's strike rate was 82 where dhoni's 60 , gilli used to score 100 much faster than dhoni before others got out & team got all out & also the fact AUS's no6 , & tail enders were much better than INDIA's tail enders (even today & has always remain so INDIA's week tailenders) to hold one end & gilli could have gone for his 100 quickly so many times in tests as 17 100s in test for a keeper is a quite mindblowing number & i am sure atleast 6 or 7 among those had come in around or less than run a ball(90-120 balls).. his fastest came in how many no. of balls? may be in ar

ponting is not a yardstick to compare sachin, both are good player and great in present era, but far behind to touch the GREATEST title
