I feel our batsman played better than the scorecard reflects, through out the match (even in the 1st innings!). Over the years I have seen our former batsman poking at seaming deliveries and following them instead of just leaving them alone. This time they left such deliveries with intent and it was the sheer class of Dale Steyn and Morne Morkel who exploited the conditions extremely well with little bit of luck favoring them (Crutial toss win, Sehwag finding the only fielder Amla and Harbhajan bat stuck in the ground and brilliance of Mark Boucher). Our bowling was totally exposed once again and that is going to trouble us the whole series.
I feel the match was half won by SA when the won the toss and asked India to bat. I am not saying if SA batted 1st, India would have won but may be they wouldnt have lost. The pitch was much easier to bat on from the 2nd day onwards especially with Zaheer out.
We needs to get the priority right. whether bcci single mindly goes after money or make a real difference in quality of cricketers by producing good wickets. Or mearly happy with sachin's century in flat surface where runs were non consequency. We are far behind in terms of quality fast bowlers. How does our next neighbor pakistan keep on producing bowlers? who bowls around 140. for that matter srilanka is far better than us. why didn't we able to produce fearsome bowlers ever since we played cricket?

asha: dont be nirasha. the only problem is SA bowlers r bowling too fast. Our Board will direct all SA bowlers to bowl underarm henceforth, so that India can win and be number 1.
why did this Harish Kotian did not tell all these facts before match started. India would have won easily. After loosing even a LKG kid can tell why india lost

he was watching the match and preparing his report, which u r reading right now.
PAKIS ALWAYS LOVES TO COMMENT ON SACHIN. THEY SAYS SACHIN ONLY PLAYS FOR RECORDS, WHEN THE SITUATION REALLY NEEDS, SACHIN DONT BAT. BUT TRUTH IS STILL COUNTRY NEEDS SACHIN. BUT ITS ONCE AGAIN PROVED THAT, SACHIN ALWAYS CONSISTENCE, HE ALWAYS PERFORMS WHATEVER IS THE SITUATION. HIS RECORD IN CENTURIES, OUT OF 50, 20 WON, 20 DRAWN, 10 LOOSE.

good statistics. But whatever said and done, team india indeed performed dismally in the first innings knowing fully well about the condition of pitch and the rain. Ofcourse with Sachin century and Dhoni's 90 the lose was minimised. Lets all cheer up our team for the remaining tests in which the team performs well and bounce back to the game.

why should pakis bother about sachin?? very many Indians themselves have stopped bothering about sachin.. then where does the question of pak come into picture.
If the home advantage logic is a applied, then for any international team winning outside their country will become "Last Frontier".So the ranking becomes a skewed up affair only helping the media to increase their decibel levels in pursuit of TRPs & Readership points.
Indians at the moment are primarily sitting ducks for the South Africans - Raina should be dropped - Dhonic`s luck with the toss should change - batsmen should spend more time on the pitch - Shewag should learn batting basics before striking the ball
