What is the issue?
by shubhashish nath on Aug 18, 2010 01:44 PM

There's nothing wrong with the Law. The only contradiction is that the ball counts as one that the batsman faced. But that is also applicable during the run of play and there never had been any objection to it as the runs scored count for the batsman.

Sehwag would have neither been stumped out nor been run out: Law No. 39.1 (a) (ii) - One can't be out stumped to a no ball and Law No. 39.3 (b) read with the Exception to Law No. 38.1 (b) (a)- One can't be run out to a no ball if a run was not being attempted.

In any case, he would not also have been out any other way to a no ball even if there was more than one run left for win.

As per Law No. 21.6 (a), As soon as a result is reached, as defined in 1, 2, 3 or 4 above, the match is at an end. Nothing that happens thereafter, except as in Law 42.17(b) (Penalty runs), shall be regarded as part of it.
As per Law No. 16.9 (a), The match is concluded as soon as a result, as defined in sections 1, 2, 3 or 4 of Law 21 (The result), is reached.

So the sixer doesn't count as per the current provision of the Law.

There's a thing called tradition where players rise above the letter of the law in the spirit of the game. The Sri Lankan bowler didn't show it. That's just about it. It's time to move on. There could have been rain when a batsman got stranded on 99. So this is not the end of world.

Deliberately bowling a bad ball is as good as match fixing, under-performing..

Coming September fresh auction is going to happen and all the Players will be put in to the auction. Just ignore them or buy them at their base price. No need to go further here. Full stop to the No Ball

DILSHAAN IS A CHEAT
by Narender Sudan on Aug 18, 2010 01:19 PM  | Hide replies

Even before this press note was released by ISLAND, we knew it has to sr player like F... Dilshaan to give this advice, for if you his face / eyes, it resembles like a monsotor/ghost.
He should & Suraj Randiv should be banned at least 3 to 5 games, as a explamary punishment, as others should not do so, in future.

Sumit Shrivastava:

How about Sehwag kicking the ball for a four to deny Amla the strike when he was trying to save a test match? :)
