Sanga an Immature
by Gopal on Aug 17, 2010 08:15 AM  | Hide replies

He is an immature player and a captain. Telling Srilanka had an upper hand in test matches, they would have won the match if scored 220-230. Why dont he realise that if India had won all the tosses in test matches srilanka may have lost the series or had Newzelanders scored 30 odd more runs they would have lost last game as well. We Indians start critisizing dhoni for being politically correct look @ other captains they don't even know how to be politically correct. They just talk $tupid and nonsence.

All above suggests that he is frustrated again from the captaincy. He did everything wrong as being a KXI Punjab captain. Now he is trying to find thises and thats.

Lanka will have bad future as Murali the chuker is gone...any number of Randiv's, Mendis cannot win matches even on Lankan soil but for Murali ... so they r a frustrated lot for now...

they do have Maling who chucks at 100 miles per hour but still not as effective as Murali..Murali can effectively chuck when required..from now on their team will be exposed...

With the modified ICC rule, Murali is not a chucker. But I feel Malinga is a chucker, not every delivery, but at least once in every over or two. He should be referred to the technical committee. It is the surprising element that matters. If they can not ban him because of political pressures, they should change the rules to make it mandatory that the bowler has to declare that I am going to 'chuck' the next delivery!

Yes, that will make it at least easier for the batsman. Else he has to be referred to the technical committee for bowling action.

Because of deformity or because of generosity of ICC or because of both Murali has become one of the greatest spinners world has ever seen.... that's past. But I don't think Murali would have done what Randiv did yesterday in similar circumstances, he was a fighter. I also feel Sanga had deliberately given 4 byes when Sehwag was 1 short of century and India was to win by 5 runs. They insulted the game.

Its all in the game. What made Viru wait till last ball. Why did Viru not ask his partners not to score and let me go for the century. What if Viru was bowled out on the last ball he the bowler be bowled for taking his wicket ?

We Asians are more worried about individual records than team's performance

Everybody cares about records. If Sehwag slowed to score a century and denied India the bonus points, then one could have blamed him. Even Bradman wanted to score a century whenever he batted. Individual interests should not be in conflict with team's interests, thats all.

Negetive cricket

Sri Lankans plyas the negetive cricket. I remember when India was chasing 250 odd runs in the test, They bowled completely outside the off stumps so that batsman can never reach the ball. Even Indians could have denied the 800 milestone for Murali by getting out by hitwicket.

What is so great about century. Play for a win like Australians. Our country is not progressing because we are not proffessionals from ploitics, technologu upto sports. We had a great father of nation who never took any credit for his contributions. So all countrymen should behave like a proffessional.

Koshy , please get out of india and go to aus.

I hate you hypocrites, first you whine about aus, but never behave like aus. Aussies don't discriminate fellow Aussies , we however do.

Records are just as important for aussies as it is for indians. Don't kid yourself. Yes end of the day, the win is more important than some individual records. But trying to say individual records don't matter at all to aussies is a blatant lie

Even Bradman cared about century. Those days Indians used to give the bowling to part-time bowlers when a batsman was on nineties to help the batsman. However, even with part-time bowlers, he played with extra care to ensure he reached his century. Who will not care?

Question may be valid to you, but does not make sense. There was no need to take any risk with so many deliveries left for bonus point and the strike was with him anyway.

But I thought Dhoni would score a six and deny the century. However, it was Sanga and Randiv who denied the century.

when sachin was denied century by kartik and srilanka... then they said it is india's win which matters most... and now same shameless people are crying foul...
as for sehwag compalin well if last ball was deliberate then perhaps so was the ball in first over of which sehwag would have been out if it was not for a no ball... and before being a cry baby sehwag should ask himself how come he could not score 1 runs of 4 balls he faced in the over before no ball... sehwag proved that he will always be a street cricketer with no class...

Indians do not support Tamil citizens of SriLanka. However if they were indian citizens we would have supported.

If they had dual citizenship we would have supported. And by support if you mean support a terrorist organization, then sorry. The country is more important than you tamils who are regionalistic to the core.

Maybe you know, if you mingled well with your fellow countrymen, we would have more sympathy to you and understand your line of thinking better.

Then ask ICC to remove these milestones like centuries and fifties from the record books. Everybody, including Sir Don, want to score a century when they walk to the crease. Only that personal goals or records should not be in conflict with the team's interests.

Team always comes first, but that does not take away the siginificance of individual records. It is a different thing if he slowed down to score a century and denied India the bonus points.

Why so much fuss...was it the first time
by LG on Aug 17, 2010 05:42 AM  | Hide replies

the spirit of the game violated? Sadly, Cricket is no more a gentleman game--accept it or not.

No doubt, it was wrong to bowl no ball deliberately.

But this is not the first of its kind when the spirit of the game has been violated...have you not seen captains using negative tactics to stop the flow of the runs?

So the question is which is a bigger vice considering the spirit of the game.

If you all are true cricket fans and care about sportsmanship, raise your voices whenever the spirit of the game is violated. Stop being partial.
