good one.. there are plenty of idiots like 'mang' who have never played cricket and are just armchair commentators.
Although I have a lot of repect and affection for Tendulkar, I completely disagree with his statement -- "It is important to dream. The second thing is that you chase your dreams. Be sincere and honest and chase your dreams they do come true."
Dreams do not ALWAYS come true for people. The more impotant thing is KNOWING when to QUIT when your dreams will remain what they are just dreams. After all there is ONLY ONE TENDULKAR. For example :- SEHWAG can DREAM of achieving at least SOME of the records set by Tendulkar. But if Murali Vijay dreams of the same thing - Be sincere and honest and chase your dreams they do come true as Tendya says - do you really think they will come true for Murali. So I believe it is also important to dream SMALL DREAMS and then chase them rather than JUST 'DREAMS'. My two cents.. sorry paanch paisa!

Kisi ne likha hain...
" Always dream and shoot higher than you know how to. Don't bother just to be better than your contemporaries or predecessors. Try to be better than yourself. "

I used to shoot higher, much higher than needed and then my coach told me that I wasn't selected for the basket ball team

Pray tell us what you mean by -- know yourself well instead of just dreaming like fool.. -- How does Sachin know that he should NOT dream like a fool but like LG?

SO you mean Sachin is suggesting to be a Don Quixote hitting at the windmills. Nice analysis :)

Hi Deepti, I think you are talking about people who just dream and do not put the efforts to get them. They are called Day Dreamers. But sachin says "Prior Preperation is important" and he prepares hard for every match. So please try to understand when people like Sachin, Azim Premji and Abdul Kalaam talks about dreams, they mean it. With out dreams, no one even puts efforts to reach them. So you can take your Paanch Paisa back. We need advice only from people who already achieved things in life.
This one statement is enough to give him bharat ratna.....such great words are now day not utter in this self centered world... we are proud of our self that we born in india to see u playing for us......
thanks from bottom of our heart!!!!!!
even god will feel proud to make a son like you.....
sachin tendulkat has almost every record of INTL cricket under his belt he is peerless with 94 INTL 100s n 30000 INTL runs he is insurmountable as far as records r concerned only one thing is left in his career n that is a World Cup
Re: sachin

more than a world cup, the only thing missing is him being in a team good enough to win the world cup. Which basically amounts to 4 competent bowlers and few support batsmen
No denying Sachin is a legend and the greatest cricket player in the World. However, India do need to look forward and plan for 'life after Sachin'. Need to identify new talent now and offer them a fair chance to prove themselves worthy. Sachin can and should retire gracefully after India win the 2011 World Cup :-)

I wish we win the 2011 worldcup, but i fear sachin's dream will remain a dream. For we don't have even 1 competent bowler, leave alone 4 to win the worldcup.

Competent bowler..hummmm I would say we need good all rounder..rememebr WC83 team was consist of many all rounder ...And we are still in search of good all rounder...Specially position no 6 (or no 7 )

CM, Before having basic needs--competent bowlers--fulfilled, you are interested in having luxurious thing--all rounder.
You are a Genius and Maestro in Cricket which millions of fans adore including me and be proud of your accomplishments, hard work, dedication and historical records rather than attributing everything to non existing GOD.
Hope, 50 centuries in Test Cricket will be accomplished in tomorrows test cricket with Srilanka. All the best....
It is important to dream. The second thing is that you chase your dreams. Be sincere and honest and chase your dreams they do come true---hats of to you master!!!
