Just as Gavaskar predicted, Sachin made the difference yesterday. A strike rate of 48? and we think Dravid's 73 off 101 balls (strike rate of 71) was bad! But yes I do think Sachin still is a good bat and will score some runs in the coming matches if India bat first. Chasing nearly 300 is too much for our little master.

No objection, sir. So a good solution would be that we choose our playing XI after the toss. If we bat first, Sachin plays. We bat second, Dravid plays.
In case Sachin carry himself for another 3 to 6 months, public will be bored of cricket.India will be on loosing side and will start at searching for new captain and even sachin will not announce retirement and back the new captain, like wise he is will continue but all other cricketers will suffer to get a seat to play for INDIA?

You might be bored of seeing his 163 against NZ in NZ, and his 138 against SL in SL, but for most cricket fan world wide, that is not a definition of boring..... :)
If you are basing your comments on yesterday's match, then sure, Sehwag, Kohli, Gambhir, Dhoni and pretty much every one except Bhajji and Praveen Kumar are making the game boring..... :) So ALL should retire.... (and by the way, Bhajji should learn off spin from Hauritz for that matter, coz he is concentrating too much on his batting.... :)
Aussies have a decent team. However, indian batting power once unleashed is hard to stop. I am talking about Sachin, Sewag, Gambhir, Yuvi and Dhoni.
Aussie pace will be blunted in indian pitches. Expect to see Gautam walk down the pitch again.
I would prefer Munaf in the line up and Praveen out for better pace and also hunger.
Now one of my pet peeves with the Sreekanth selection committee is that they leave out good players like Kaif, Bhadhri, Utthappa that are playing good domestic cricket.
Any way we all have to accept one fact here.west indies was ruling cricket world for a long time.australia also has done the same way.but india couldnt hold the best and constant performance more than three years.after getting fame and money our players are forgetting nation/their concentration scattering towards actress and money except few players..where the team spirit and goal is not there then failure will be there all alone.

Good analysis. Sachin was the problem, coz he didn't score a century yesterday. Whenever Sachin scores highly, we win - repeatedly demonstrated over a number of years.
Thanks for standing up to this solid performer once again. Just goes in to show that if we want to repeat CB series performance against Australia, or performance against NZ in NZ or our latest performance in the tri series in Sri Lanka, we NEED Sachin..... :)
Else we will face embarassing defeats as faced yesterday..... right?.... :)

Ashish - why can't you stop harassing people here? I disagree with Mr. X's point. In my view SAchin is the leader of this indian team and will be till 2011 world cup. Anyone that is here not supporting him is not being realistic.
This guy talks about new breed. Well. I would like to see new breed too. But, not when they cannot even score a 50 in the domestic cricket, let alone 100. If u cannot score a 100 against your local team, what chance do u have against an international attack.
An exciting match. A match 50 over cricket needed the most. Hope to see these type of matches in the remaining ODIS of this series. Hope next time it'd be India who'll take the winner's spot. I predict 4-3. Fingers crossed. But can't say who'll take 4 and who'll get 3. Both the teams can match each other excitingly.

After a long time a sensible comment on the forum....
Great job..
A true cricket fan will always talk like this instead of blowing his own trumpet as most of our beloved posters on this forum do...
When someone dares to disagree that we are not the Permanent Number ONE side in the world, then they go ballistic and label you a traitor, slave and all sorts of "nice" things..... :)

Great!!1 Now read your own comment and learn something yourself, before advising others..
You need to get out off your superficial mentality and also stop attempting to fool others that you're an Indian. You're P-O-R-K-I, who will do nothing but criticize Indian on every front.
Nothing wrong calling you Aussie s-l-a-v-e and I wish they throw their left over piece of bread at you and your folks... and keep you going with your JAI HO AUSSIE and JAI HO P-O-R-K-I mantra..
Why single out individual players? Is it an aussie thing to do? They do that while sledging as well.
Gambhir, bhajji,Pravin played an important role but overall it was a team effort! Did you see the spirited bowling attack from the Aussies? It came really down the wire but unfortunately luck eluded us in the form of Raina,Virat Kohli,Sachin in batting. Bhajji and Pravin in bowling.of course its sheer bad luck.So far I thought that Aussie players are sportive. This series will show our true color. Jai hind. Om Namashivayya

India played with 13 men as both the umpires were indians as the english umpire got sick in India...

Did it make any difference? or they biased like indians faced 13 aussies in last aus test series!!
you are saying if sachin fails in 1 match, we are all barking for his dismissal, but he does not fail in '1' match. He has failed many times. you say ‘dhobi’ is failing from time immemorial. that is not true. He is currently ranked 1st in icc odi rankings. during the period considered for the ranking he played 24 odi matches winning 17 of them. also he made 967 runs in those 24 matches with 9 50-plus scores. that is not a failure by any angle either as a batsman or as a captain.

:) Good to see that Dhoni personally won those matches.... :)
Dunno what has happened to him since some time now.... right?.... :)
I am sure it was Dhoni who won us the last CB series in Australia, and it was Dhoni who won us in NZ with his 163, and it was Dhoni who won us the Tri series in Sri Lanka with his 138.... :)
So it was Dhoni who won us yesterday's match too... right?... oops... slip of tongue... :)
