The pakis have been rightly served
by Ashish Kumar on Oct 04, 2009 08:29 PM  | Hide replies

The Pkis have been rightly served. Their captain deliberately played with the tactics of winning against the Australians with a small margin even by risking losing so that India gets eliminated. If they had not done that and had beaten the Aussies which they was within their reach in those conditions, they would have played a weaker team in England and would have advanced to final match. You dig a pit for others and then yourself fall into it.

simple question, but answer it logically
by s s on Oct 04, 2009 04:13 PM  | Hide replies

I have a question, if Sachin would have been an Australian cricketer then what would be his milestone in last 20 years? Would he be far far better performer than Lara and Ponting?

sachin has played more than 70% matches on slow pitches (good for batsman) whereas Australian are playing more matches on fast tracks(good for bowler)

but sachin has class to play on both condition

final result - less centuries , little bit less average.

he certainly would have been dropped quite a few times from the team. He's a great cricketer so no doubt he would have done great for Oz team too. But his no. of centuries would be about 30. His average could still be the same as his real one. but no, he would not be the highest run scorer in Test Cricket. he'd be behind Ponting and Dravid among the present cricketers. I'd say his overall record in test matches would have 9500 runs.

Sachin would not have been able to continue for so long as the Aussie selectors would not have tolerated the several lean patches that he has had.

CT Final
by Raju Gentle on Oct 04, 2009 02:52 PM  | Hide replies

NZ has caused a huge upset by defeating PAK in CT2009.PAK is the only team in world cricket who can be high at one day and very low on another day.Even they may not be knowing how that happens.Well done NZ!But defeating AUS will not be that easy.Anyway,AUS will [and should]win this trophy.AUS side is real champion.Though they have some new players, they play real good cricket.Unlike IND,AUS cricket board does not bother about player's reputation.Howerver big may be a player,he is axed if doesnot perform. In IND game does not matter, what matters is politics and Zonal-ism.If president is from south, that zone gets maximum representaion.

If Pak is unpredictable what upset NZ caused by beating them? If WI could have scored 180, they could have beat Pak too.

Good going NZ

NZ bowling was the difference between the two sides. Plus Pakistan dropped catches at crucial moments, which turned the tide in favor of NZ. I reckon NZ should win the final.

Vettori the real Superstar
by san on Oct 04, 2009 02:15 PM

We hear, Kallis, Abdul Razzak, Lee or our Irfan to be great allrounder never ever daniel vettori name is flash, but see his performance in recent year, not matches. Daniel had been the major contributor to New Zealands performance with bat and ball. and had been the hero in most of matches they won. wish him all the luck and limelight he deserve but given to lesser crickter like afridi, younis, akram, sachin, rahul, pointing etc

Pak's Defeat
by DrSudhirGuhagarkar GUHAGARKAR on Oct 04, 2009 02:03 PM  | Hide replies

India has NO reason to feel happy over pak's defeat, on the contrary we must learn from Pak, England and New Zealand " How to recover when a team loses 5 to 6 wickets for 100 plus runs!!!!!!!!!Pak was 198 for9 and they went to make 233!!!! I am sure under such a situation we would have been wound up for 197 A RUN less that they have already made!!! Only we, Indians can strike such miracles!!!!!!!!

There are several examples with India too where the tailenders have made runs. Specially Harbhajan and Zaheer etc have done it many times.

I totally Agree with Hiral. Many a times our tailenders have won the match for india in critical conditions, remember Kumble and Srinath in Bangalore 1996 Vs South Africa? And I would like to tell all SO called Critics here that stop criticism like this. Its hard to play in front of 20K plus audience and facing deliveries more than 100km/h, stop criticising Sachin, no one has achieved the feat like him, and first ask yourself what you have done.
