Dravid play agressive tommorow and get 300..
by Danawal on Nov 17, 2009 12:41 AM  | Hide replies

I hope he scores 300 tommorow..I really admire him as a player and a person..I think Indian board and media under rates him a lot as compared to a player of slightly better class which is sachin..I am a Pakistani and he is my favorite Indian player...I hope he plays agressive since he will be playing with tail enders..Go Dravid!!

Dravid its enough

Mr. Clean its a good opportunity for you to hang your boots. You have done enough services (to test cricket) and dis-service (to one-day and 20/20). Your hard work and dedication is worth appreciation but without special talent you can only reach to a certain level. I really wonder how you always find a fielder when you hit a ball? Is it something out of a techniq or just u have been taught this way? Neverthless, I hope you can be a good coach for test playing teams where stopping the ball is the only art which is displayed. Such a boring visual in a borin game of cricket

mefunxy,
I think yours are really unwarranted and unwanted comments at this juncture. Is it really appropriate to make these comments just after the guy has scored 177*? And that too at a very healthy 70 strike rate? This is test cricket at its best... if he had played like the more fancied Sehwag and Yuvraj, India would have had all the players back in the hut with less than a 100 on the board.
It takes quality to play an innings like Dravid did. Hope he converts it to 200 (maybe even 300?)! But, even if he gets out tomm first ball, it is a job well done!

Mr.mefunxy,
You sound such a looser. The last statement in your post says it all about your mental state. Why do you watch and even take a time to post here when cricket is so broing for you? LOL

he is "The wall" of Indian test cricket. he is called as Mr.dependable for a reason because he is known for playing innings like this one.. without his valuable contribution today India would have been all out for less than a hundred. he is the kind of player who can hit every shot in the book. without him we would have ended up losing many test matches than we have actually lost. maybe he cant score fastest 300 like sehwag neither will he be worshipped like sachin but he comes to the rescue when all others fail. a true batsmen in the gentleman's game.

Dravid better in terms for winning contributions for INDIA
by km vb on Nov 16, 2009 11:28 PM  | Hide replies

Sachin:
Tests 159 261 27 12773 248* 54.58 42 53 51 102 0
Dravid :
Tests 134 233 27 10823 270 52.53 25934 41.73 26 57 1367 15 184 0
The difference between Sachin and Dravid is only No. of centuries.
In case Dravid look for individual achivements,Dravid would have scored equal to Sachin's but Dravid produced many such innings that gave INDIA either by winning tests Matches or saving from loosing the Test Matches.

and he made sure India lost many matches which Sachin had very well set up for a win...Dravid is a Looser...this I say coming from Karnataka....no messing around...Dravid never understood the logic of cricket is to score as many as possible and restrict or clean up ur opposition within that total or score more then them and not stand like a dumb rock

Rohit,

Very honestly, get yourself a therapy to reduce your pessimism levels before you become a pain to people around you.

Learn to laugh & smile with optimism.

Try to see good around you.

Winning contributions make us proud.

The general complaint against Sachin is that he is not a match winner.
I wish he understands the concern here & takes corrective measures.

I sincerely hope Sachin's denial to CBI in the past that matches were fixed (& matches can be fixed) & his selective match performances are not linked.
Cricket fans (not fanatics) must have watched Sachin often times throw his wicket before the victory mark.
All that is asked of Sachin is to stick to wicket until victory & runs will flow by itself.

That is if he can score a few runs in this series and stay for the next one. I think depending on how this series goes for him, he might quit. Or else the axe falls.

True... When the whole country (cricketing fraternity and outside) are singing the praises of Sachin (and I don't grudge that one bit)...lets spare a thought for this soldier... he has won several test matches for India, if only people realize it. People think winning matches is only if you are chasing in the fourth innings and the batsman remains not out at that time... No, people like Dravid dig India out of a hole, and lay a good platform, from which bowlers can win the match by taking 20 wickets. Dravid's presence will be felt when he leaves... gosh I can't think of 1 good No.3 batsman who can fill his position... maybe the likes of Badrinath should be given a chance even though he is already 29 years old. Test batsmen play well into their 30s anyway!
