I still dont understand why Dhoni chose to take the powerplay so late, when all the settled batsmen had left, and when the asking rate was up due to which the pressure was on the tailenders. If he had taken it in the 40th over when Sachin and Raina were going great guns, the asking rate would have been done and easily reachable by the tailenders as well.
Re: Power Play
by Magical Creations on Nov 06, 2009 12:55 PM
Dude it was not Dhoni but Sachin who decided to take the PP so late. That is the reason Dhoni in the end said "Our calculations went wrong" and he did not praise Sachin at all. Arrogance has a limit but Dhoni has crossed it now.
Lack of commitment from Indian team was evident while bowling, and seems to have given up when they last 4 wickets within score 100. Except for Raina nobody supported Sachin, and better not to mention fielding, batting and worsely running capabilities of Munaf and Nehra. Now nothing else but accept this as part of the game, and can also say it was Australia vs Sachin Tendulkar....

Well, what do you call the rest of the 10 Indians, who could not make 18 runs apiece between them? 10th rated? Maybe they a bit too fastidious to eat vada pav, so decided to forego this match?

need to slap u 1st on ur left cheek,so that u will come out of hypnotism against sachin .
The culprit for the yesterday match was Jadeja, he did the same mistake like in the Mohali match. Even the school boy will not run when the ball goes straight to the fielder. He has spoiled the great match. He should not be considered in the future team selection.
Re: Culprit: R Jadeja
by Titus Godwin on Nov 06, 2009 12:55 PM
No mistake.... it is the game of cricket and these things always happen. India is only unlucky to be on loosing side (just because both teams can't on the winning side). These are the games were you win some & loose some....Just enjoy the game. All credit to Sachin and better luck next time.
Re: Culprit: R Jadeja
by Ashish Ranjan on Nov 06, 2009 12:45 PM
Rightly said..Sachin has done his part..we should not expect miracles from Bowlers..but still look at the endeavour of Praveen kumar..what does Jadeja doing..he was so afraid to face the bowlers that he opted to get run out deliberately. he should be dropped.
in last match no one bastman co-ordinat with sachin witout raina. when sachin ply's well but other plyer can't take responsibility to get victory. why this happenig. Sachin Tendulker is The Best.
Difference between Lara and Sachin is that whenever Lara scored a century West Indies used to Win. He was a great finisher , same with Micheal Bevan,Mark Waugh,Steve Waugh.
Sachin has always choked in the end , his innings was useless in the end.
Thats the reason i always rated Lara above Sachin..
Sachin is only after creating records and not winning games for his country.Irresponsible shot after such a good innings. He could have just played straight and India could have won.

the same shot if it produced a boundary you would ahve told great shot... He is too good then us to decide which is the right shot for a ball.... it did not click this time thsts fine... but don't just blame him atleast on cricketing skills... Once again he proved he is a class apart

Sachins emotionally charged up fans will not accept your statement. Everyone including the media in India is a biased one. No one is praising Aussies on their great effort to keep India out of the contest time and again. Indians are real chokers. This tag should be removed from SA and attached on India.
Re: Re: Chokers
by Against Pseudos on Nov 06, 2009 12:52 PM
cSubramanya
This has nothing to do with Sachin's emotionally charged up fans. Aussies no doubt played a great game. And they won. That doesn't take away any credit from almost a lone battle waged by a certain Mr. Tendulkar.

Mob culture, victims of Media and you see just numbers . 37 or 40 centuries what for? I would call this Martyr effort.
This is the only sport India plays and still we are not the best.
People like Sachin/Gavaskar are given so much importance because of you people. Other sports does not have any recognition. Learn something from Australians - Gilchrist still performs but he has retired from internation cricket and given opportunity to youngsters. Its in only Money Sachin is after , but you will disagree because you dont want to change.
Stupid sport and stupid people , keep watching this sport . West Indies have stopped playing , Aussies will do it in next 3 years , same with Eng and SA.India , Bangladesh Kenya will be the only countries to continue playing this sport-and you will be still watching .

no 1 has forced u to watch this sport, dont know from where u get this records, west indies has stopped playing?? i believe they have a big series in australia & the captain ths chris gayle again. Do u read news or no ?? well i will appreciate ,u keep on watching some other sports or watch cricket only for those players from ur state. u said gilchrist still playing cricket ,isnt he playing for money ? every cricketer in this world plays for money, there are no free lunches ever. South indian ppl wont change their attitude.

all indian players in West indian team , ramdin, chanderpaul, dinnanath ... that was the end of west indian cricket.
South indian wont change their attitude , what about you people.Kya ukaad liya tumne.. People from other states are running Bombay and showing you how to work.Gilchrist is retired and is earning money , thats the difference you dumbfool

Please dont rate sachin below lara...ICC will ban him if u rate him below lara....sachin will be distraught...he will not be selected in future, and his family will perish...so please dont do that..have pity on him....

no class for sachin he is a master for our morden cricket and dont compare him with lara because no comparission between god and normal human
Re: Chokers
by miviu on Nov 06, 2009 12:49 PM
Going by your conferance, Sachin should have got out after reaching milestone of 17K runs in ODI.. had he got out intentionally, don't u think he could have got out any time... why when India was in need of 18 runs in 18 balls with 4 wickets in hand..
Re: Chokers
by Shu Bar on Nov 06, 2009 12:35 PM
First check your stats & then talk. Lara incidentally has the record of scoring the most centuries in losing cause. Don't just give useless comments.
Re: Re: Chokers
by Magical Creations on Nov 06, 2009 12:49 PM
Lara played brilliant cricket and I was a big fan of his. But dear Lara is finished chapter now. Sachin is still going and there is not comparison now. OR you can keep comparing Sachin with Gavaskar, Richards, Bradman and list goes..
Re: Re: Re: Chokers
by joydip bhattacharya on Nov 06, 2009 12:56 PM
Lara failed to raise WestIndies cricket along with him, Sachin raised the Cricket India and its fan along with him...this can be single most reason why Sachin is greater then anyone else... See Cricket in India today and I would say Soem credit for this must go to Tendulkar
Re: Chokers
by Ashutosh Dixit on Nov 06, 2009 12:54 PM
boddy idiot ! why u aays forget that sachin always opens the inn and none of beven or lara have ever open the inn. u cant expect opener to play all 50 overs. despite he has always made india to kiss th target but because of some idiot youngs..........records show every thing otherwise.
Re: Chokers
by Against Pseudos on Nov 06, 2009 12:50 PM
Sreeram Balsubramaniam
Of course you can claim that Lara never got out. But that will be twisting facts "just a little".. :)
Secondly, to your claim that Bevan, Lara etc. were finishers, that was their role.
Openers are never, or at best rarely, finishers. Bear that in mind the next time you make such comparisons.
Gilchrist, when opening never finished games. Watson and Marsh yesterday didn't finish for Australia. The finish was provided by Hussey and White.
If you are worried about his irresponsible shot, you should be a million times more worried about irresponsible shots that were played without making any contributions at all. Sehwag's shot? Gauti's shot? Dhoni's shot? Yuvi's shot? Bhajji's shot? Even Raina's shot?
Whilst I grant you your personal opinion, I must point out the logical fallacies in your arguments. :)
Re: Chokers
by Ravi Challam on Nov 06, 2009 12:45 PM
Sreeram, get your facts right before you comment. 32 of Sachin's 45 centuries have resulted in an Indian victory. He has averaged 56-plus in the 217 matches that India have won since his debut in 1990. It is time guys like you open your mind and speak sense.
can u imagine inspite of retirements of greats like in recent time mcgrath, gillispee, warne, kasprowiz, gilchrist, hayden, martin, waugh brothers, langer, this Austrlia team is still giving challanges to other teams who are talking big, they won one day series in England though lost the test series2-1 but gave the gallont fight, won champions trophy, and now giving india hard fight,,,,those who are saying austrlia is not the same team, i am saying austrlia inspite of going through changing phase is far ahead of all. well done austrlia.. u r realy 1- 10 and after that any teams comes i salute austrlian players
