Nothing is right with IPL- Big economic Drain on resources
by BALASUBRAMANIAN VISWANATHAN on May 13, 2009 02:48 PM  | Hide replies

It is only in India that such a rubbish thing can happen. India is not a sporting nation. Even New Zealand with a miniscule population (4 million if i am right)wins more medal in Olympics.
Even in terms of economic development we are third world country.
But in cricket we are the richest country in the world. We are buying players like Hayden, Shane Warne, Ponting, Fleming. We are buying the best comentators, Best umpires, best grounds (South Africa).

India cannot afford to splurge so many billions for entertainment. IPL is not value for money for India & Indians. India & Indians just cannot afford this circus. Any person with economic sense will tell you this.

Left handers are 4 % of world's population
by junaid anwar on May 13, 2009 02:45 PM

left handers are four percent of world's population, and being one sonmwetimes feel a uniqueness is there in us which sets lefty from right handers.Though it looks odd while doing chores especially in women, but still lefty seems right in everything they do.

why Money Not given to Indian Charity Schools
by cherry on May 13, 2009 02:44 PM  | Hide replies

Dear All,

We all are Enjoying the IPL-2 as we have to but one point i really dont agree and against and want to be highlighted is there is an lot of money, Mr.modi is giving to the charity my question is what stopped him giving to the Indian schools last year i think the sponsers should also realis this point and go against.INDIA is still developing country and it needs money and education for the Poor Childrens and any one and every one are welcomed to donate Money.infact south africa is still develoed and have a better facilites that India so Mr.LALITH Modi (Chairman OF IPL) should realise that. When he says that this particular tournament is to take out the talent amongst INDIAN PLAYERS,can he relaise the money he re directing to the charities which are not in over country....First we need to look our country then we can go ahead to develop other countries. As i dont have an source to RAise this point Except through you People.Pleas hihgh light and RAISE VOICE FOR INDIAN POOR CHILDREN.

Cherry, you have raised a very important issue. The IPL bosses should do first for India then for others.

Misleading Headline

I agree that such headlines give the bang and get people to read your article.

But once the reader finishes reading, he is 'left' with a hollow feeling that something isnt 'right' here. The reader feels hollow and cheated.

I would prefer straight forward headlines than such attention grabbing but hollow one's.
