Even wicket-keepers can wear baseball helments, since its is light weight and doesnt block the vision as well. Dinesh Karthick can be noticed wearing the baseball helmet while he is doing keeping and certainly does good stumpings and catchings wearing them. Umpires neednot wear if their reflex is fast, also they stand some 30 meters away from the batsman batting.

If a shot a hammered.. it takes less than a second to reach umpires...think all the possibilities before you write...I believe its a great Idea and should be Implemented ASAP.
Umpires are also the human beings quite prone to various injuries so why can't a helmet be specially designed for them or even a base ball helmet would also suffice. Have people forgotten about the fatality Raman Lamba had to face about 11 years back and Nari Contractor is still remains disable for life. So the gist is injury could be to anyone players or umpires so why not protect them before it happens. Lal Jee Asthana
Replace fat old umpires with fit, middle aged ones. They have better eye sight as well. Someone like Steve Bucknor can hardly move, he takes ages to think, he is just too old and unfit and shouldnt be on a cricket field.

Autobhai... for your info... Steve Bucknor is also a soccer referee .. & soccer referees r one of the fittest people... how many cm/minute can u walk ?
Why required umpire for T20.They can easily control the game from TV commentry room. Can Announce during over,if any appealfor everything. It should be a great help of technologies and players can give plenty of gaali for bad decision. That way they can release their anger. So no after effects.

It is like having distance honeymoon. You want the game to lose it's flavour by keeping the umpires out of the field. Sad Sanjeeb Ji.
