its just a one off defeat

Punjab Kings XI will emerge champions in this edition of IPL.
RCB sucks big time and there is no good talent in RCB (Royally Challenged Bangalore).
RCB should lose heavily in all their future matches.

Vijay Mallya may well be ruing the fact that he went for "icon" Dravid as captain last year and committed a blunder again in bidding KP for a fancy (whopping) price of USD 1.55 mio and making him captain.

It was the cricketing wisdom of Ray Jennings which appears to have invested the captaincy in the shrewdest of RCB players, viz. Kumble.

Kumble's test performances in Australia should have got him IPL captaincy naturally and as first choice, even in 2008.

His able marshalling of batting and bowling resources made the difference yesterday, in contrast to Yuvi's failure to capitalise on the reasonably lower target to be achieved.

I am not very enthusiastic about senior guys (over 35) being in T20 format but once the franchise has chosen to include them, the policy should be "right person for the right job". Like Sachin for Mumbai, it should have been naturally and automatically Ganguly for KKR. KKR is in shambles because of the disregard of its owner / coach to the cricketing wisdom of Ganguly.

RCB is not my favourite to win the IPL-2009, but I sincerely wish a much improved performance by this team under Kumble's stewardship.

Gangully does not deserve to be in the team, so how can he be the captain?

Ganguly still is a gr8 player, he still can will matches in his own abilty,he nearly pull out a impossible win against rajasthan but luck didn't support KKR ,but he showed his fighting spirit nd a gr8 abilty 2 analyse the situaion. He is one of the most knowledgable cricketer who reads the sitaution very well and shane warne is a master in this art.I m sure he will play few more gud innings in this IPL but may be in a lossing cause because of the sorry team.

Kamran Khan reported for suspect action
by Anurag Rathore on May 02, 2009 10:27 AM  | Hide replies

Kamran Khan, the Rajasthan Royals' teenaged fast bowling discovery, has been reported for having a suspect bowling action.

Khan, the son of a woodcutter from Uttar Pradesh in India, was reported by umpires Rudi Koertzen and Graham Baxter after the Royals' Indian Premier League match against the Chennai Super Kings at Centurion Thursday.

What is the relevance of the information that Kamran is the son of a woodcutter from Uttar Pradesh, when the issue discussed is about his suspect bowling action?

Does someone feel that if some player is from any underprivileged sections of the society, his deficiency in bowling action should be overlooked? Or worse still, should we have reservations in cricket teams for such players?

BTW, why are the umpires not reporting Lasith Malinga, Sohail Tanwir etc. also for being scrutinized by ICC appointed experts?
