Ganguly has histry of lying. Remember one test match(Nagpur) where he feigned injury on seeing green top.

So he wants options in case things go wrong.

No. I feel Ganguly should captain KKR. At least for IPL-2. To try Hodge or Hussey or McCullum is unconsionable. For example, Hussey is not even the captain of Victoria!

Exchanging with Zaheer more than offsets it. in S Africa's bouncy pitches, 4 good overs from Zaheer will be very valuable. Also, Uthappa can not go blindly front foot and hit through the line of the ball (becvause of the bounce).

Captains
by Chaturchuramoni Chatterjee on Apr 01, 2009 11:56 AM  | Hide replies

A lot of discussions are going on saying there was no fuss when Dravid and Laxman was dropped from captaincy. But

Laxman never captained India.

Dravid himself resigned from Indian captaincy saying that he is not enjoying it.

Now look at KKR, if Ganguly had to share captaincy with Ponting it was OK, but

McCullum - Never captained NZ.

Gayle - Just compare his captincy record with that of Ganguly.

Shukla - Played only 3 ODIs for India.

your favourite forefather ex-cricketers were busy making money when ganguly stepped in as a captain with a broom to clean up the mess made by the azhars and jadejas..... if he had a stable side like what dhoni has today he would have been even better... he is a greater reformist than a captain he changed the way indian cricket is percieved....
