Cricket Crazy
Cant be Dominant
by Cricket Crazy on Mar 30, 2009 12:13 PM

This match showed two things

1. We have huge talent in our team.(2nd ing batting)
2. How we nullify our skill by playing stupid (1st ing batting and fielding).

I guess we would never be a dominant team as Australia. This is very harsh but unfortunately true.

probably because (i) NZ realized they can not take the rest 6 Ind wkts and overtake the lead within those 10 overs and (ii) Ind realized that even if they decl then, they will not be able to take 10 NZ wkts to force a result.
Hence, both the teams agreed to call it off.

Justification? Yes, absolutely. There was no interest left in the match. The match was a drawn affair.

there are some inner politics
by manivasagam semmalaiappan on Mar 30, 2009 12:12 PM

Right from the start of this match, it seems to be Sehwag not having much of interest to lead the side as He was only informed just a day before that too just 12 hrs before the match that he was told only that he may have to lead the side, what is the problem to Dhoni if he feels he is not fit, just announces Sehwag as a captain before a day or two. all are saying about No. one spot in Test and ODI arena, if the team like India still cannot able to find a genuine allrounder like Kapil, cairns or Kallis it won't be possible at all, the lack of a prefessional 5th bowler clearly evident that kiwis putting a mammoth toatll. any way congrats India that our batsmen proved we are the strongest batting line up in the world

Arrogance in terms of assisting the team towards any win is sometimes found to be good. But, behavioural arrogance from any player must be discarded, which harms the spirit of the game. Team Management must be very strict on such arrogance from any player. If any player is found to be arrogant regularly, he should not be allowed to play, whatever big player he
may be. Discipline must be maintained in the team, at any cost, in order to get positive result from any match.

Man of the Match
by A Singh on Mar 30, 2009 12:05 PM

Though, there were some sterling performances in this drawn but not dull match, the Man of the Match award should go to the Groundsman.
