Drop Harbhajan.
by rakesh sadhu on Mar 27, 2009 01:37 AM

After today's performance, is there any doubt left that we need to drop Harbhajan & play Pragyan Ojha or Amit Mishra instead or perhaps both ?????????????????

The Dhoni effect
by Ashish Kumar on Mar 26, 2009 10:33 PM

Hamilton test: Indian team with Dhoni restricts the Kiwis and beats them.
Napier test: Indian team sans Dhoni goes back to its old ways.
Only the other day many were seeking to undermine Dhoni's credit by calling this team the best ever and what not.Any comments?

A few thoughts
by Maneesh Jain on Mar 26, 2009 07:56 PM  | Hide replies

Although things can change very quickly in the game of cricket, but the way things are right now, I don't see NZ losing this game from this point on. This seems to be a good batting track, but Indian batting may collapse under the weight of the mountain of runs. I get the feeling that Vettori and Jeetan will give Indian batsmen hard time. India's best bet would be a draw. India may have to bat for almost three days (both innings). My only hope is that NZ may not be able to bowl Ind out twice.

I don't know how serious Dhoni's injury is, but if he was fit enough to bat, maybe Karthik should have been included in place of Yuvraj and Dhoni should have played as a batsman. Without Dhoni, team looks in total disarray. Yuvraj is one of the best ODI player, but even after being around for 8-9 years, he looks totally out of place in tests.

It will be interesting to see how Sehwag bats in this test with pressure of being a captain and chasing a huge score.

Same Old Story
by Ajay Dev Singh on Mar 26, 2009 05:51 PM

I don't think by chanting team chalisa, we are going to land anywhere. Fielding and catching are sub-standard. So does, bowling. Young team mmbrs should thanks to their star as they are getting batting dominated pitches. Except Sachin and Laxman with their fine technique faced Ambrose/walsh/Mcgrath/Waqar & Akram. Otherwise current bunch is good only for T20 matches. Their gloring saga w'l continue another season. India can never be reckoning team to top the rankings. Aussie & SA plays with their heart-out, they won't allow you to blink once. That reflect in the series results. Their pacers hitting the deck in 130-140's where our pacers clocked 120-130's. Sometime Kumble & Harbhajan opened the bowling spells. Pathetic and simple pathetic.

when lesser players get zeros it is fine with you but when Sachin (only sometimes) get a duck you say he is a bad player !! and a team usually does not depend solely on a player . a good team wins on allround performances and not individual ones . out of the matches India has won, 80 % of the matches Sachin has scored. is that not enough for you ?

Interesting fact about Dhoni........
by Anurag Rathore on Mar 26, 2009 04:43 PM  | Hide replies

M S Dhoni missed a Test for the sixth time in his career. India have won only one of the previous five.

It shows how valuable player and captain he is. We are missing him.
