Just two days ago this Indian team was talking about a 3-0 whitewash as a gift to Sachin and Dravid. Granted this is a batting pitch, the Indians looked completely different with Sehwag as captain. They did not look like the 3rd best test team. Bad day for Sehwag. Hope they come back a different team tomorrow or else they are in trouble of losing this test in 4 days just like NZ did in the first test. India could well miss Amit Mishra in this test. Vettori opted for two spinners in his team.
Yuvraj Singh does not have what it takes to be a test player!! Guy looks like a donkey stuck on ice skates in an ice ring !! When he bats on any wicket that is not a flat track!! Now he can not catch a flipping ball!! ROss Taylor went on to score 120 odd runs!! The guy should have spent more time on catching practices than on shopping sprees!!
Without Dhoni India is an average team. It has proved again. India lost to SA under Kumble's captaincy but won under Dhoni's captaincy with same team. We dreww 2 tests with Aus under Kumble's captaincy but won 2 tests with same team under Dhoni's captaicy. This is proving in this test also. Dhoni is best captain and getting 100 percent from every player.

I remember when the aussies were going grt guns in the test match in india, dhoni packed the offside and asked his fast bowlers to bowl well outside the offstump and the runs just dried up. The aussie innings folded and india went on to win the test. That is some captaincy. But here sehwag was found wanting in captaincy and rus just flew. It shows how captaincy can motivate a team.

couldn't agree more Anurag...yeah the same team was so energetic in the 1st test and today they looked hopeless ..they same bowler after getting initial wkts started dishing half trackers instead of creating more pressure and Sehwag seemed to have no control on the bowlers..lets hope if they do something outstanding 2morrow else v r looking NZ batting only once in this test match...

How many times a team has scored more than 350 in a day against India? Surely bowling changes and field placement was very poor.
Yuvraj Chuuuuuuuuuuuttttttttttttthhhhhhhhhhhhiyaaaaaaaaaa tha, Chuuuuuuuuuuuttttttttttttthhhhhhhhhhhhiyaaaaaaaaaa hai, Chuuuuuuuuuuuttttttttttttthhhhhhhhhhhhiyaaaaaaaaaa rahega. Such people should be kicked out from the indian team. his drop catch is going to cost heavily.

these newzee commentators are so biased and annoying. dude, at the end of the day you are from NZ. no one cares about your biased views. Where is Ravi shashtri or any other commentators from other countries? I have had enough of listening to this mark richardson BS. Is anyone else watching this?

Well said X. Thats' exactly what Ravi and Sunila talk in. Butler English. They are no where near Harsha Bhogle among Indian commentators.

Back injury - hahaha - you got to be joking. Too much of "fukkad" chomp chomp mate - result cork on the south end mate.
The article is silent on the reason why Dhoni withdrew from the team. Is it due to any fitness problem and if so what?
I have seen an interview given by Dhoni reported in a newspaper today in which (probably in response to nagging questions from press as to the team staying back in Auckland and practising there instead of going to Napier, the match venue and getting familiar with the conditions there) Dhoni has given abstract and philosophical replies as to the nature and state of mind and how cricket these days is more of a mind game than of talent and physical fitness.
I would like to take this interview in a positive sense and believe that Dhoni, although not having any claims to belong to any aristocratic or pedantic family background from any megametropolis, has a good grasp of nuances of mind and philosophy.
If, God forbid, on the other hand he had chanced upon one of the new age spiritual gurus in New Zealand and has been infected with any self defeating teachings, it wouldn't be any good for either Dhoni or Team India, which is currently going through a golden era, satisfying the prayers of genuine Indian cricket fans.

Abe dhakkan, the article clearly says that Dhoni suffered a back injury during practice seesion. Read carefully.
I wonder how Dinesh Karthik is in the team. He was dropping ball after ball. At this rate, what will happen if he drops a crucial catch? On what basis he was selected for the tour? Is personal interest of certain individual more important than national interest? This is what happens when we compromise on quality and select mediocre ex-players as selectors.

You are an mediocre eccentric fan who has no idea of how players have performed in the domestic circuit. Performance only counts first next comes maybe personal interest. Without performance no amount of personal interest would help.

he was selected basis his performance in dance reality show - ek khiladi ek hasina on colors

Dinesh was selected more for his batting skills than his wicket keeping skills. Dinesh has already dropped and missed quite a few catches so far in the short 60 odd overs.

Dinesh is on a tourist visa. When he was enjoying sightseeing and living off the fat of the land, he has been suddenly inconvinienced with a temporary work permit.
