Congrats to Modi and Good Luck to IPL as they havnt surrender to Pakistani Terrorists like Indian Govt.

Govt. on knees once again against English news channels...

Is India govern by Government or few English news channels....

The IPL going to be held in SA , its once again its proves that Indian Govt. mishandled by media and played in the hands of few media people of India.

Indian Govt. shd think the consequences on longer run of this decision...

Indian Govt. shd think out of box rater then forced them to act accrodinglingly media's wish...Govt. need to grow up and saves Indians and their humiliations

Its proves that Govt. of India have accepted that they are incapable as like Pakistan and Afghanistan and they are in line with these country. Its affect a lot on longer run on INDIAN economy as well as future plan of holding Olympic. They are already going to hold 2 major events like Commonwealth games and ICC World cup in near future.

Now we have suspect that if wht Govt. of India will do on 15th August , If there is terror threat..are they going to host flag in other country ?

Congrats to Modi and IPL that they have organised aginst all odds and given a positive message to the world else it will be victory for Pakistani Terrorists.

By not supporting IPL, Govt of Inida proves tht they are incapable to handle Pakistani Terrorists..

Congrats and hates to Modi..

Show must go on..

Its not all abt Money, IPL, BCCI or Cricket its abt being Indians

My dear IPL never stands for being an Indian. Because nowhere there is any "Indianness" or " Bhartiyata". This is just a bullshit that Sharad Pawar, Lalit Modi & team of jockers carrying out. Modi, Pawar & Co. were very well aware of the election schedule then why did they decided the dates just during the period of elections. Is IPL more important than the only tool for saving Indian democracy. Shame on them. They are makng fool of all Indian public and bothered only about money, nothing else. My dear fellows, IPL is a very- very big event that had to be taken care of election dates, even SSC exams used to take care and scheduled so that election dates are not clashed but these IPL jockers, what to say.....

I understand that you need to be in good books of ruling party to continue in your position. But do not lose your credibility by saying that govt by failing to provide security for a cricket tournament has not lost out to terrorists.

It is same as accepting defeat at the hands of terrorists. Will the govt declare curfew during elections so that no untoward incident happens and lose whatever credibility it has?

It IS about pride.
by Kes Som on Mar 25, 2009 07:50 AM

What a nonsensical article. The fact that a legal activity of Indian citizens has to be moved out of India for security reasons is certainly a big blow to national pride.

Is there any other recorded instance in any country where citizens could not conduct their legal business because the government confessed inability to provide security?

This guy is a former RAW guy. He should tell us why India spends 100,000 crore annually on "security".

IPL is now Indias National Shame - Would China have done the same
by Amakant Chaudhary on Mar 25, 2009 07:46 AM  | Hide replies

Shifting IPL out of India....call it SAPL (South African PL) instead. Would China have done the same? No way... because of their national pride they would have made sure China looked good in eyes of the world. Hence every nation stoops to woo China. And India? They will only be curiosity piece... Slumdog Millionaires.

Why the IPL was not postponed by about 3 weeks? IPL management was ready to postpone it in SA for whatever may be the reasons.
Also it is the tax payers money that is used to provide security to the teams. I don't think IPL will pay a penny to govt for providing security. Instead they will negotiate with govt for concessions in tax.

Shame on this Congress govt
by K K on Mar 25, 2009 07:22 AM  | Hide replies

The fact that the govt cannot provide security is a shame. Yet this was the same govt that repealed POTA when it came to power. The hidden agenda of the congress govt is to make India an islamic republic. In a few years the Congresswallas will say that India should be a Islamic republic to avoid terrorist attacks.

IPL is not about national pride
by Ganapathy Aiyer on Mar 25, 2009 07:09 AM

Well, let us not forget that without the incentive of making money nothing worthwhile is created, sports included. So talking of money making motives by various groups wont wash.
If the Govt was fully aware of the enhanced security concens because of elections & stepped up terrorist activities (which they were) it should have been made very clear to IPL & all cocerned on day one. Instead the drama of making the IPL run around in circles between cenral govt & state govts producing revised schedules was played which probably amused only the media world.
Anyway, the IPL having now shifted (hopefully for this year only) it would be futile to analize the pros & cons of whwt has happened. Let us all, including the Govt of India/State Govts wish and pray that the IPL series will be a roaring auccess. Jai Ho IPL Jai Ho!
