Cricket vis-a-vis General Election

The decision of not allowing a commercial cricket tournament of huge magnitude is the best ever taken by Indian Govt. You can't play with security of Indians forget about few foreigners who are being paid to play cricket and are not Indian people's guest.

Pawar would be there, where there is money. Without knowing ABC of cricket he is controling CCI. His name is with Telagi, Hasan Ali. He is the richest politician.

Since, he intends to be PM, which congress will never allow. By making noise, Pawar thought to be Dy PM if not PM.

USA is richest country and negligible black money, but Obama told Swiss bank to declare to declare first 500 US account holders with Swiss bank.

India is poorest country, but on top with Swiss bank account holders. Recession is world over and foreign cricketers would be paid by Indian team owners and now will pay hefty charges to South Africa.

If the amount spent on cricket is spent on other games, we will won at least 100 gold medals in olympics.

Industry do not get electricity, but it will be wasted on viewing TV.

Regards.
Vanani

Dont be a commie. Money flows to where there is a return. Do you go to a movie theater, see the price of ticket as Rs. 350, & instead of going to movie, donate it to hungry people there coz it is a better use??

If we cant hold India's most popular tournament due to fear, we have lost to terrorists already.
Now Pak can claim that India's security situation is no better than PAK.

Security threat is just to cover up the monetary profits BCCI would make. If not for the elections, IPL would have been played in India. It is the elections and anyone do not want to come out in open and declare that IPL is not conducted in India due to the elections due. If Modi always wanted to have the IPL abroad wherever, he should not have asked for security from state governments or the center. Let’s not forget, SA is mafia infested, there are terrorist there. Terrorist could strike anywhere, why do we forget they the terrorist did not spare the US and could strike the WTC.

This all debate is to cover the real reason of IPL going out, it is to make money irrespective of whether it is the elections that is held in India or anything (WE DON’T CARE). Pawar and company wants money. Guys show your interest through newspapers and keep a tab on the matches if all you guys are too influenced with cricket, but do not watch the games on the TV.

Don't be fool Mr. Thakur.

Security personal are also humans and need rest infact more than other citizens of India as there job is the most stressfull Job.

IPL organizers are just money hungry hence do not want to postpone the tournment. I am happy that those idiots are out of India.

Govt should make it clear to BCCI. Sinec BCCI is not under Govt. any security provided to them by Security agencies of Indian Govt will be chargable in Future.

All of us are talking about shifting the venue of this big money making game of some selfish people in the country. These guys ( all those who would be palying too) would be out of the country when the entire country would be electing the future leaders .... by these people being out of the country... does it mean that they wont have any responsibility in the our systm by voting. We the fans of Criket are encourging such people by still talking about this about who do focus only on swindling the countries wealth of money and time of the thousands...???

Yes you rightly said that IPL is not about national pride but a national SHAME. If the Govt. of one Billion people can not provide security to handful of Cricket players than what kind o security these guys provides to its own citizen on can imagine.
Come 2010 and the Govt. will say we will not be able to provide security to the Commonwealth Games and than we have to bag some other country to help us in organizing the game. Why not have a pact with Pakistan that they can help us in the commonwealth games in their country.

simple thing is that Cong got scared that a bomb blast during the IPL would have ensured its defeat...hence, it decided to be a coward and shift IPL out of India!

Guys understand the enormous task of conducting the elections. Rs.10,000 Crores would be spent on it. Do you all guys think it is easy. Go to rural india...if from mumbai just go 125 Km. in any village in Kasara, the villages too face the rivalry among different parties. It is just not providing security to few handful players but to the stadium spectators too...is it easy to manage 50,000 to 90,000 spectators. Come on be logical guys...For few handful of terrorist who tries to enter the boundaries of India there are over 3 Lakh army personnel manning the borders...now dont say...for few terrorist why do we have such a huge army...

It is all about money stupid!!!!! To begin with ITL T 20 is a Tamasha and not cricket in any sense of the word. It is celebrated and liked by Indians because it is about the only game (PLAYED BY LESS THAN A DOZEN COUNTRIES) where India sometimes wins

I am not a supporter of congress but in this case what congress did was correct. It could be either for political gains too. But overall I feel elections are more important than IPL. Everybody is talking about the security of the players and officials. What about the audience?

And the nation's pride does not depend on providing security to unwanted macthes in the name of IPL. If it is commonwaelth games or olympics yes it is certainly a pride but not IPL where money and glamoaur spoil sports.

Kangress Vs. NCP: Sonnia's Kangress wins, INDIA loses Pak smiles
by Cool ChandraThakur on Mar 25, 2009 10:24 AM  | Hide replies

Pak would be laughing like crazy :(
They can now claim that security situation in India is no different than PAK

Sonniaji hit a last ball SIX (First approving the changed schedule of IPL, then at last moment refusing security via her Kangress govt in Maharashtra & AP)

This is all politics. IPL promised to hold the matches only on non-election days (2 days after election). So actually the paramilitary forces would have already been present & deployed & well-rested. No need to transport them from their base.
But, BCCI is headed by Sharad Pawar of NCP, so Congress was always trying to pull the rug under his feet.
After Kangress came to power in Rajasthan, Lalit Modi lost the BCCI election.

Now Maharashtra & AP (both ruled by Kangress) at last minute went back on promise to provide security & so IPL is kicked out of India.

The message that goes out is India cant host International games (just like Pakistan) coz its not safe.

So in the match between Kangress & NCP:
Losing Captain: Sharad Pawar
Man-of-match: SONNIA MADDAM for her last ball Sixer. (First approving the changed schedule of IPL, then at last moment refusing security via her Kangress govt in Maharashtra & AP)

But the real loser: INDIA
Only happy spectator: PAK

The reason why Congress wants the IPL scarped.
by dhawal vora on Mar 25, 2009 10:23 AM  | Hide replies

No denial that its about the money,, but the country can't come to a stand still because of elections.

So, is the center trying to say that since there are terrorist threats we can't have the IPL? in that case next they might say lets have the elections in Pakistan as India can't provide security for the elections.

The congress is blantantly saying that it can't provide enough security to the country in order to run two events at the same time int he country.

Actually its more to do with the fact that if IPL happens in that time they will not be able to fill up their grounds for their rallies, which will happen even otherwise because people will watch the IPL no matter what.

by Vira on Mar 25, 2009 10:21 AM  | Hide replies

As some one said on this forum, it is about the cheer girls. Everyone was interested in cricket and suddenly a bunch of filthy politicos go on air and announce that 'it is against our tradition to show thighs'. So the cheer girls had to wear chudidars ..lol. And rest is history. As they say we people let it happen ONLY IN INDIA. The garbage called 'indian politician' should be flushed out of all sports in India for good. Only then there is hope.
