Pressure will be more on New Zealand
by raman govindan on Mar 08, 2009 03:31 AM

india's success rests on their ability to score quickly and sufficiently than other teams. that provides the space for the bowlers to risk and take wickets. they have to continue to do that.

This order is very good for BATTING First. In case we have Chase then we should a bit a dynamic order. That is, if we loose 2 wickets very fast then we should use Pinch Hitters like HARBHAJAN and ZAHEER so that the create some runs and it will give some time for the NEXT Big batsmen to read about the Pitch and also the top bowlers would have given it to second rung bowlers. Please think of ANDREW SYMONS, he bangs the second rung of bowlers not the top order bowlers when Australias top order batsmen fail fast.

NEXT RAINA AND YUSUF SHOULD BE TRAINED FOR OPPENING POSITIONS (PURELY AS ALTERNATES TO GAMBEER AN VIRU FOR VARIOUS REASONS)

Cannot Sachin learn to be a backbone instead of forerunner
by sridhar reddy on Mar 08, 2009 02:12 AM  | Hide replies

All of us knows Sachins capability, but his future is bleak because of Age. Even after 20 years of play, if he is not willing to give it to others, when others are equally capable to him..... it is called GREED. Why should he not come in 4th or 5th down. When Future top guys fail he can still withstand the team comming in like Andrew Symonds. This will really break the confidence of the opposition team, when a maharthi like him is behind the teams solid support base. Or is the BCCI still want him to make more RECORDS for THE Country. IT IS THE BCCI WHICH IS THE COWARD, NOT ABLE EXPRESS TO PEOPLE OF ITS INTENTION. It is still a Indian Political Body, filled with Good Old Cowards. See how nicely the youngsters are showing their powerplay.

Marvelous Youngsters, they are mostly comming SMALLER towns which were not heard till now in Indian Cricket. I FEEL NOW THERE IS A GOOD MIX OF PEOPLE FROM MAIN CITIES AND SMALL CITIES. Jai Ho to Indian Cricket. My Only prayers is YUVRAJ should play seriously to get his vice-captaincy or captaincy when the next turn comes, which he deserves.

Rohit Sharma has put us down. HE IS ANOTHER POWER CENTRE, LIKE THE GREATS OF SACHIN, SOURAV & DRAVID. He is causing problem for himself being not-serious or caught in BCCI politics. It will be Rohits own foolishness if he does not utilise his capability, offcourse India will loose a star performer in him.

I agree with sridhar. Tendulkar should take the role of anchoring or backboning the middle order by coming at number 4. This would be good for him, team growth and for world cup

Thanks for Seconding it. Another correction, Dhoni should not all Advertisements for himself, he should spare it to his other teams mates also, that is how you will share with your colleagues. SINCE THIS IS NOT A ONE MAN GAME, IT IS A TEAMS GAME. It is the advertising Corporates who screw up the menatallity of our good players.

Screwed Sehwag and Gambhir Fantastic Opening Pair
by santosh srivastav on Mar 08, 2009 12:11 AM  | Hide replies

Unnecessarily screwed the best opening pair for India...both sehwag and gambhir are young and can be groomed for long run which is beyond the world cup 2011. No logic in promoting Tendla in opening which is hampering gambhir's game....after few more failure Gambhir will loose confidence and may be removed from consideration for opening slot.

Tendla cannot be a longterm prospect as he is prone to injuries. Tendla cant play under pressure(now all tendla fans will protest against this) but fact is fact.

So please bring back Gambhir to opening and Tendla to one down.....but again coming one down after quick blow of openers again applies pressure to tendulkar.

I agree with sonthoash that Tendya should take the role of anchoring or backboning the middle order by coming at number 4. This would be good for him, opening pair viru and gambi ,team growth and for world cup. Also Tendya is unable to play all over the wicket especially he is unable to play well on onside apart from flicks and pull shot to square leg. Look at Viru, gambir, yuvraj, these guys can play all over the ground.

All crap. people have very short memory.when the big stage comes up sachin is the one who helps India to come on top. not even one year crossed in last year One day series against australia in australia in the two finals he scored a century and 90 .Purely beacuse of him we won that tournament after long time in australia. It is actually overshadowed by Dhoni's T20 world cup victory.Even now if sachin gets free hand he can blast anyone in this world. One year back people are questioning about Shewag another wonderful player and see now they are praising him and started questioning Dhoni. This is hoz the crazy indian cricket fans react without much knowledge of cricket.Sachin got all bad decisions in Lanka also. See without him in the team we lost both the T20's away from home.Gambhir is good batsman and man in form but on any day my vote will be for sachin. Moreover its not gambhir scored less in T20 games but the way he those games one can say easily that he is not at all confident. Moreover as it is aways series its better sachin open the innings and hold the fort and others flourish freely. Its the presence of sachin which makes other players play freely which most of them ignore.wake up buddys and don't just that u have right to comment but comment only one you have knowledge.

Sachin actually screwed Sourav's happiness in 2002 and 2003 seasons, by looking only for opening positions. When he fails as opener all the others used to perish. HOPE THIS DOES NOT HAPPEN WITH DHONI. I do have respect for Sachin's capability and the service he rendered for the country, but its hightime he sets team in good shape, leaves it in good hands and comes out as a WINNER FOR THIS COUNTRY. HE HAS PROVED HIMSELF A LOT MORE THAN THE REQUIREMENT. Offcourse he has eaten a lot more compare to his colleages by way of Advertisement, which he never shared with his fellow team mates. HIGHTIME HE THINKS GOOD, DOES GOOD FOR THE COUNTRY AND RETIRES IN STYLE BEFORE HIS FORM GOES DOWN.

Y did they remove wonderfully successful opening pair (left ahnd rt hand) veeru and gambheer...So that shows individuals are more important...for sachin's opening position, teams interest was not considered.....i really donot understand the logic..and am sure there are sensible ppl left who follow this !!
