Playing XI (3 ODI) Rohit in place of Gambhir
by ronak doshi on Mar 07, 2009 08:10 PM  | Hide replies

You are surprise why i am removing Gambhir from final XI, he is playing well and he is performing well but the balance of the team is getting disturb if he is not playing at no's 3 i think MS is more successful at number 3 so i will send MS and not gambhir. So there are three option Rohit/jadeja/Irfan, jadeja would have been a good option but due to dew factor and small ground i will not pick him, about irfan, as already we have one swing bolwer i.e. praveen kumar there is no need of another swing bolwer as he will be 2nd change bolwer till that freshness in pitch will go and ball will become old, rohit he should play as in australia he played very well and here condtion are much similar to australia so i will give him a chance.

Ravindra is not in the ODI Squad. Rohit is proven waste! You want to remove Gambhir? Oh! This Sachin has disturbed the blossoming golden-pair to this extent! Don't get carried away with one such innings of Sachin yesterday. Gambhir & Sehwag are doing it more consistently...

Yes ff, i completly agree with u team-prospects are important then individual interest in 1st ODI MS came at number 3 and gambhir was wasted in fact we played with 10 players and not 11 players and rohit can also roll his arm over. Most importantly MS average at numer 3 is 82 in 15 innings which he played at number 3. So if Gambhir is played the balance of team is disturbed and i am not talking in individual interest, i am talking in team interest.

CMon man if u r talking in team interest, then y did u remove wonderfully successful opening pair (left ahnd rt hand) veeru and gambheer...So that shows individuals are more important...for sachin's opening position, teams interest was not considered..and now ppl like u r throwing gambeer out...i really donot understand the logic..and am sure there are sensible ppl left who follows this !!

Cannot Sachin learn to be a Anchor instead of forerunner

All of us knows Sachins capability, but his future is bleak because of Age. Even after 20

years of play, if he is not willing to give it to others, when others are equally capable to

him..... it is called GREED. Why should he not come in 4th or 5th down. When Future top guys

fail he can still withstand the team comming in like Andrew Symonds. This will really break

the confidence of the opposition team, when a maharthi like him is behind the teams solid

support base. Or is the BCCI still want him to make more RECORDS for THE Country. IT IS THE

BCCI WHICH IS THE COWARD, NOT ABLE EXPRESS TO PEOPLE OF ITS INTENTION. It is still a Indian

Political Body, filled with Good Old Cowards. See how nicely the youngsters are showing

their powerplay.

Marvelous Youngsters, they are mostly comming from SMALLER towns which were not heard till now in Indian Cricket. I FEEL NOW THERE IS A GOOD MIX OF PEOPLE FROM MAIN CITIES AND SMALL CITIES.

Jai Ho to Indian Cricket. My Only prayers is YUVRAJ should play seriously to get his

vice-captaincy or captaincy when the next turn comes, which he deserves.

TEAM FOR ODI & 20-20'S
by rahul bajaaj on Mar 07, 2009 07:32 PM  | Hide replies

For the Indians to win comfortably, the team for the ODI' should be as follows:

1.Virender Sehwag.
2. Gautham Gambhir
3. Suresh Raina.
4. Yuvraj Singh.
5. Ravindra Jadeja.
6. Dhoni.
7. Yusuf Pathan
8. Harbhajan Singh.
9. Praveen Kumar.
10. Zaheer Khan.
11.Ishanth Sharma.

Reserves:

12.Ojha.
13. Robin Uthappa.
14.Murali Karthick.
15. Sreesanth. (After attaining fitness)

If this team is rotated with the inclusion of some new comers depending upon performance, consistency in the last 6 to 10 matches, we can definitely win 75 to 80 % of our matches.

Good to note that atleast Indian cricket lovers are avoiding (dropping) Sachin from one-day matches - let BCCI note this. Already in rediff selection survey Tendulkar takes 9th position. He plays in one match and relaxes in all other wasting all new youngsters' chances.

Nice to note that Sachin is being dropped by cricket lovers. Even the CCI selectors note this and act upon. Sachin's personal wishes of playing upto 2011 world cup wasting chances to many promising youngsters should be set aside. His past performances were recognized enough by way of many awards like Arjuna, Padmasri, Padmavibushan ets. And commercially he got many benefits.

Mr.Manoj,
Its because of persons like u, we are losing the matches. How can you ignore, Praveen Kumar over Irfan pathan.

Irfan Pathan is another Joginder Sharma, a media hype. His prolonged career was due to the help of Greg Chappel, who promoted him up the order to cover up his mistakes in the bowling.

Unless Irfan is dumped the same way as Joginder sharma and Praveen Kumar takes his place, we cannot win matches.

The 20-20 match in Srilanka was the only match winning perfomance by Pathan in the last 3 years. That win was also due to poor captaincy by Dilshan who used fernando instead of Jayasurya who had figures of 9 runs in 3 overs.

Bring in
1. Harbhajan instead of Uthappa.
2. Praveen Kumar instead of Irfan Pathan.

Among the current lot of fast bowlers only Irfan Pathan, Harbhajan Singh and Zaheer Khan have taken over 100 test wickets. There is absolutely no comparison between Joginder Sharma, Praveen Kumar and Irfan. Irfan is way ahead. To boot he also has a test century. Looks like you have not seen Praveen Kumar bowl with the old ball. He is not given one for your kind information.
