Munaf's good luck.
by rakesh sadhu on Mar 06, 2009 05:03 PM  | Hide replies

It was Munaf's good luck that the match got washed off without India having to bowl. Otherwise, he would be totally exposed. He is not fit enough. Praveen Kumar, by his performance in the last one-dayer, has shown that it was wrong to keep him out of the T-20 & Test squads. Perhaps some sense prevails over the selectors yet or perhaps Munaf can contrive to get injured at some stage.............

Both u guys pls read what Rakesh is writing. He has clearly witten to take Praveen Kumar instead of Munaf Patel.WHERE DID HE MENTION IRFAN ? Praveen bowled the best & Irfan was clobbered in both T20 Games. Its not about who is the better player it is about who is bowling better in the present Conditions.Irfan has been pitching the ball short thereby negating his main weapon " SWING " .He is a All Rounder & andy with the bat but as of now the Batsmen are in form..SHEWAG , RAINA , DHONI , SACHIN , GAMBHIR , YUSUF..Whatwe need is a Gud bowling support to ZAHEER & ISHANT who when he comes on does not relieve the pressure by giving away free runs. The discussion is not between MUNAF & IRFAN but MUNAF & PRAVEEN..

Actually, I feel R P Singh and Sreesanth must have gone instead of Irfan and Munaf.
RPS must have been stopped by Srikkanth to show, he is the boss, after Dhoni's outburst in favor of RPS against England.
Harbajan must have stopped Sreesanth.

India is the loser.

Dhoni's statement
by Bijay Sahu on Mar 06, 2009 04:58 PM  | Hide replies

The prolem is with our understanding of the statement made by Dhoni. He only told it will be difficult and never told that, it is impossible to win without the openers giving a good start. Please do not read between lines. This is dangerous for the nation and for the people.

Earlier, the simple man was repeatedly telling, 'we must start from scratch'.
Without chasing the world record, he gave chance to all in bench, in the last tour.
In the 1st ODI, he was in the field, all the time.

Same old statement !!!
by Venkatesh V on Mar 06, 2009 04:45 PM  | Hide replies

I have heard enough of this particular statement from Dhoni. Even after today's game he says "If the openers give a good start we can post good totals or else it will be difficult for the middle order". What does he mean by that? If an early wicket falls cant teams post big totals? Can we expect openers to give good start on every single occassion ? After all, there will be only 2 openers compared to 5 middle order batsmen. Since the openers face the new ball on a fresh pitch there will be every possibility of an early wicket and it's very unfair if the blame goes on the start if the team fails. This is the reason why a failure by a Sachin or a Sehwag is more exposed than a failure of a Yuvraj,Rohith,Raina or a Dhoni. I dont think many are aware of Yuvraj's 3 failures in 4 outings already.

Boss try to apply your mind before starting commenting! Dhoni wants Tendulkar to come down the order and let the golden Sehwag-Gambhir do the opening! This is a way to put pressure on Sachin to slowly leave cricket. The same thing was done on Ganguly if u remember! Dhoni was the man who played with the Physio and got Ganguly out of the team! Infact he wants people who can play the World Cup 2011 should play now.

Infact he is right.. Why should we break the golden Sehwag-Gambhir opening bonding for sachin?? They both play for Delhi and have great co-ordination!

Please dont pull up a person into this issue atleast now when he has bid adieu. If Dhoni and his planners feel that it would be right to omit Sachin, a la Saurav, then who are we to oppose. But will Dhoni remain forever young and what if he is being treated the same way.He simply is not aware of the relation which should be there between a senior and a junior.

sachin's contribution to indian cricket
by Indianat Heart on Mar 06, 2009 03:44 PM  | Hide replies

i believe its not us who will decide whether sachin is a selfish cricketer or team man moreover all of you who r pointing fingers at him i will like to know how much cricket you have played/ i believe sachin must have played much more international matches than the number of gully cricket matches played by you n since u have made a statement about sachin i must say everytime sachin plays it reflects in team results as well if u take india's world cup campaign in 90's and new millenium we made it 2 semi-final and final in 96 and '03 world cup respectively and both the times he was the leading top scorer n how many players have gone up to be dismissed in 90's there are not more instances than sachin's case if he would put his interests as the top most pririty the list of centuries would have been endless and please dont compare sehwag with sachin they r completely 2 different players there has 2 be difference between chalk n cheese sachin is now playing the role of a mentor now he can no more play like his usual self since he has got greater responsibility n sehwag in da other hand is going through da form of his life thats why he is getting these big scores otherwise it was only a year around when bcoz of his inconsistency he was not a regular in da team always remeber one thing class is permanent form is temporary sehwag is sort of player who relies a lot on excellent hand eye coordination but no footwork n he ll b destructive till he has that unique trait

Who r these "we". the persons like cnrqpal will keep on criticising SACHIN & SACHIN will keep on hitting them by scoring runs. very fact that Sachin is compared with the best like Sehwag shows is class. Many in playing 11 confide publicly that they r confortable while batting when Sachin is at other end. These "we" need to be ignored. They do not have ability to sit near SACHIN's feet.
