You win some, you lose some
by An Observer on Jun 18, 2009 09:59 PM

its not the end of the world. The key is to learn from the errors and not repeat them. Int'l teams have experts that do this analysis over and over, so lets leave them with the post-loss surgery.

Being upset since your team lost is one thing, and going personal and commenting mindlessly about Yuvraj Singh's batting powers, or Dhoni's captaincy is juvenile.

India requires bowling
by Debapratim Ray on Jun 18, 2009 09:51 PM  | Hide replies

Throughout cricket, India has suffered due to poor bowling. In one day cricket, India has suffered due to lack of good quality bowlers, specially good consistent bowlers in the end overs. Unless, India overcomes this deficiency, it will be difficult to consistently win big tournaments.

Dhoni's Luck
by raghvendra singh on Jun 18, 2009 09:48 PM

The stars have changed and now Dhoni's good luck has deserted him. When performance matters he is not able to deliver. Should he retain his captaincy?

Unfortunate, India lost the game they could have won due to politics.

Same with the national politics.

No application or seriousness. Just plain casual!
by E M on Jun 18, 2009 09:13 PM

The Indian players played with more passion in the club based IPL than for the country.
Suresh Raina is a typical example. In the world cup his batting was senseless, swinging at every ball from the word go, that too playing at No 3. Against England you could see him up on the balcony laughing away to jokes, when we were sure to lose the match, playing the 18th over. So much for so called seriousness and patriotism shown thru pretension.

Dhoni made the same mistakes in IPL and the world cup. Instead of recalling a dashing opener like Sachin or someone else in lieu of Sehwag, he opts for karthik to warm up the bench. What use could he be.

You cant expect Rohit Sharma to play a World cup as an opener and do magic in English conditions. That was expecting too much of him and his old slot of No.5 was wasted totally.

The Australian or English women cricketers can bat better than Dhoni who keeps running forward to every bowler to tap the ball on some side to take a single. Whats wrong with him. He needs now a 6 month break. So much more modelling to do.
Yusuf Pathan is a waste, who has no technique. The only thing you can do with him is to send
him to bat with 4 overs remaining and ask him to score a fast 40 runs. He succeeds once in
15 matches. Gambhir was totally out of touch. Jadeja is too young and has no physical strength even to hit a boundary. This guy was sent ahead of Yuvi!

Practise at nets was an option, it seems. How ridiculous, for 2 "do or die" matches.

This is something similar to how english premier league spoiled england national team. IPL spoiling Indian national team.
