India's defeat against England
by PRAKASH SURYANARANARAO on Jun 18, 2009 09:08 PM  | Hide replies

Score 153 was not a big. India could have been won the match comfortably with 5 wickts in hand. Lost deliberately. It shows lack of unity & sportiveness in the team members. Efficient players also failed due to grudge on co-player. Here naming of the player is not good for health. However we being an INDIAN wish our players all the best in their next endeavours.

You are too much of a gentleman, only harsh words are suitable for Idian team; they should be banned from making ads till their individual and team performance improves! their old ads should also be grounded till then.

BCCI performance appraisal
by Hinoo Bakra on Jun 18, 2009 08:43 PM  | Hide replies

Finally, no team appraisal is complete without looking at BCCI performance.

Matches: As many as you can fit in with an indentured pool of players and captive and manic fan base.
Runs: after power and money
Highest: bidder gets to fix the match.
Average: Below stupidity
Catches/Stumpings: too low and morally deficient to be caught or be stumped with chicanery, skulduggery etc.

Performande Appraisal: 0/10
As a governing body: Most Corrupt

he rates Y PAthan 3/10 and R Jadeja 5/10. It baffles me, I dont think you can blame Pathan for England Defeat. He did his part, nobody expected him to have the same success abroad, He may not have been specatacular like IPL, but definately much better than his teammates, bar Yuvraj an P Ojha

Yeah.Infact Dhoni alone resposible for the dismal performance in T20 world cup.Infact all the three matches could have easily managed to win.

1.First super 8 match with Windies,It was Dhoni who scored 11 from 24 balls by staying in the crease from 3rd over to 13th over, there last the momentum and put the pressure on Yuvraj(despite he scored brillianly). If Dhoni could have managed another 10-15 runs...perhaps we cud have won the game.

2.With England match,Dhoni afraid to come and sent Ravindra Jadeja and as you all know we last the match..but dont blame the new comer. It is his first match.(Had Dhoni come in Ravindra Jadeja's place India would have lost match comprehensively rather than with narrow 3 runs)

3.Against South Africa..Dhoni's runout..Dhoni might have afraid that if wont score then media will criticize and he thougth better to get run out so that atleast people will show some sympathy for runout as they say some misunderstanding.

So all these reasong are indicating that Dhoni is the culprit. He should tell sorry to Virendra Sehwag about his arrogance.Greats like Tendulkar,Kumble,Dravid served the team for a decade and they behaved down to earth and Dhoni because of his
"devils luck"(this is what Kapil said)he got very hot headedness, should learn from them.

Y u r truly correct. Even in my message also i meant the same. U can see my message. The easy match also India lost, indicates MATCH FIXING. These people play for money not for the country.

when there is effort and hard work it is evident. people will support.

when a person tries his best and then fails, everyone will praise the fighting spirit.

when a person with lot of capability doesnt put the required thought or effort and just fails, no one will show sympathy

OVERCONFIDENCE OR JUST PLAIN CASUAL
by Andy Rao on Jun 18, 2009 08:20 PM

The team was just not there in terms of seriousness or application.

It was like a merry go round trip down the park rather than serious business of a Champion team playing for retain the World Cup.

When a certain Mr.Ravi Shastri commented on the way Indians scraped through into the Super 8's that it would be a miracle if India retained the cup, not many Indians really understood the message.

Absolute Let Down for all the Indian Cricket Lovers across the Globe. Nothing more, Nothing Less.

Call it Over confidence, or just plain Casual.

Indian incapability to play classic bowling both spin and pace ( Yuvi is no hero. He is the most suspect under quality bowling) outside will be forgotten. back home the same old flat pitches. Our great warriers will hit he same old great shots and make tons against poor pace bowlers whose back breaks bowling on this flat pitches. Everybody is happy.

We have made a name for ourselves as a great theme for a movie like Slumdog. The whole country is so proud. We have IPL who fleece the poor sponsors and the ignorant people. we are on the world map.

I can not understand why people are not giving importance to Women T20 where we reached semifinals. After all it is also cricket.Even rediff also not giving score updates.

SILLY FICKLE MEDIA - use your brains before criticising
by purush on Jun 18, 2009 07:22 PM  | Hide replies

I personaly think that Indian media is a total disgrace to the whole nation, more than poverty and other socio economic factors from which we suffer. Whats the need to praise this team to the hilt 3 weeks before and whats the need to bring them to the dust - is only known by Indian media..shame on you blokes..
Indian team has been doing pretty well and that too consistently well in the last few years, they have faltered rarely like no other Indian cricket teams in the past. I dont think there is anything wrong in Dhoni's captaincy over the years, he is the best possible candidate to be a captain in the current line up. Ask yourself, AM I DOING GETTING 100% RESULTS EVERYDAY, 365 DAYS A YEAR??

Some of your arguments apply to opposite teams also. They are also playing all through. Nobody is worried about losing. What is disappointing is the incapacity of our batsmen, barring Yuvraj

What you guys are all talking is to be patient is all trash. Have you seen such a disgrace to teams under Steve Waugh or West Indies. Take it, loosing becomes a habit. There is no reason to lose, when you have everything at your disposal. Losses such as this should be the point at which some decisions have to be taken. Suresh Raina's and Dhoni's failures are very very disappointing. The point is that this team cannot face either good spin bowling or pace bowling.

I work 5 days a week and get less perks than these cricketers. Yet if I dont perform, I get nobodys sympathies.

These cricketers are cry babies.

Boss u r right. All 365 days may not be possible bring 100% result. But that doesn't mean u should give up the play when the goal is just near to the threshold. Just think of match with England and South Africa.

waste of time analyzing our cricket
by David Coulthard on Jun 18, 2009 07:20 PM

As the subject line indicates, it doesnt make any sense to do any kinda post-mortem now.
Other nations play for their country and money, but in our cricket-crazy country, the players shift quickly to the money-only mode.
How can you explain each one's failure (except Yuvaraj's brave efforts) in the T20 tournament?
Agreed, the bouncers did do its damage, but that should not be an excuse.
I can clearly come to the conclusion that it is the IPL2 that made much of the damage: monetarily, morally and physically.
How many times did Indians clash among different regions? The classic case of the Sreesanth "slapgate" is a study in restrospect.
Basically, the IPL is taking away the unity.
And BCCI/Modi are sitting pretty on their pile of money, laughing at us foolish fans...
