Please don't blame Kirsten, he is a gentleman and he is not a crooked like chappel and a very sober person, he doesn't crave for limelight. He said absolutely true thing.
If you play 45 days IPL and making it more hype than world cup, then you cant celebrity Diwali every day... The charm, excitement, curiosity and eagerness for world cup dies.. since your feelings ends... Plus dhoni took bad decision in match against England, but the team look out of sorts. you are killing cricket modi, the langoor... If you want to have IPl. then go ahead, but do not include national players and have it once in 3 years...
Remember greg Chapell(chappal)?the western media right from the start of T20 world cup started saying that Indians are tired and fatigue will be a big factor. Kirsten is also from the same part and has played big roll similar to greg chapell.you see that time it was Aus playing for world cup now it is SA.
Ojha - best spiner with 7 wickets doesn't get to play crucial games and that too on a rank turner. Praveen Kumar - most wickets and economical and good at picking early wickets doesn't play. R.P Singh - Purple cap winner , doesn't play for the first 3 games and doesn't complete his quota in the last 2 where he plays.
Ishant- highly useless in IPL , no wickets , very expensive plays all the matches. Jadeja - good potential but no experience plays in crucial roles and sent in at crucial times.
The ideal team for crucial games should have been
1) Irfan Pathan 2) G Gambhir 3) Rohit Sahrma 4) Yuvraj Singh 5) Yusuf Pathan 6) MS Dhoni 7) Suresh Raina 8) Harbhajan Singh 9) Ojha 10 R.P Singh or Praveen Kumar 11) Zaheer Khan
This would have given depth in the middle as well as well as ensured there was enough experience. Even if Irfan failed, there would have been enough depth.
The below par result for India in T20 WC is a culmination of several little things adding. And IPL is also one of the factors. Over-confidence:Thinking that we are too good and even performing at 60% of our capacity we will sail into Semifinal stage. Minor tactical mistakes by Dhoni: Dropping of Ojha for a crucial game. Not selecting RP ahead of Zaheer. Underbowling well-performing bowlers to only 2 or 3 overs. Incorrect batting order by allowing him to come in at No.3. Allowing 50 runs in last 5 overs in many games. Not able to raise the game for a tournament of high profile WC. Just having 2 days gap between IPL and WC - players are not fully rested, been away from their families for many months, many players carried minor niggles and injuries from IPL. Lack of unity and squabbles with Sehwag affecting the morale of the team,, and getting into one-upmanship with the media taking away focus from the game.
Oh and the next IPL will have 2 additional teams ... which would mean 18 more matches in the tournaments (yawn). Also, if Mr Modi has his way, like he often does, there will be 2 IPL's every year!

Why only 2, Why not 3 IPLs in a year..after all this is the most important and high-profile tourney in the world. All the other games should just fill up any gaps between two IPLs
We hardly had T20 experience prior to the WC in 2007, but we won it. A draining 45 day long IPL with cheerleaders and bollywood celebrities is not the ideal preparation for a world cup. What was required was players with fresh legs and fresh minds. It doesn't take a genius to figure out that the IPL is going to have a negative effect on the performance of the INDIAN team. But are our crorepati players willing to give up the additional crores and the glamour that the IPL offers, just for the sake of Indian cricket? I doubt it.
Whether IPL is responsible or not, there is no gainsaying the fact that money makes the mare go. Last year Tendulkar was unfit for the earlier part of IPL matches but later on he played the IPL matches by declaring himself fit. Subsequently, he opted out of India's official tour citing injury. Thus, he played IPL for money but opted out of India's official tour. Similarly, Dhoni played IPL last year and made lot of money. Subsequently, he opted out of India's official tour to Sri Lanka citing too much cricket as reason. When playing for money in the IPL there was no `too much cricket', but the moment you haveto don India colours where there is not that much money as IPL, all sorts of reasons for not representing the country come out. One can draw his/her conclusion from this. But IPL has certainly made players greedy and they do not mind even opting out of playing for the country. After all, their financial needs are met by IPL!As one can see, Tendulkar is again reported to be opting out of the official West Indies tour starting from 26th June because of injury. But, he did play all IPL matches and made money! A point to ponder indeed!
s IPL important or world cup? Nobody will stop playing IPL, because everyone is getting so much money to say anything against it. When players play non stop cricket, they will get injured and when they play 45 days cricket in useless or irrelevant cricket which has no national bearing and run by celebrities and corporates, and players like sehwag, zaheer, tendulkar and dhoni getting injured in that? what is the use? Why you are killing cricket by overdosing of IPL, IPL once in 4 years is ok, but not every year.
YEs IPL once in 3 or 4 years is ok, not every year of 45 days cricket.... by money blindness, you are killing the actual taste or entertainment of cricket by overdosing stress and fatigue to players and thereby loosing intensity, how you can play active and intense, whereas it takes charm away..
We 100% agree with Kirsten, only IPL is responsible... we applaud for making real and bold statement... he is genuine
Dhoni is out of his batting order because, No footwork on incutter ball No wrist and thigh timing on reverse swing ball No stance pickup from cris for taking run No arm work movement for glance and hook I think these points are quit enough to throw him(Dhoni) out
