YES.OF COURSE ACCORDING TO ME THE BCCI IS MORE GREEDY FOR MONEY. THEY SHOULD NOT HOLD IPL FOR A LONG PERIOD. IT SHOULD BE TRIMMED TO A SHORTER VERSION. AL THE INDIAN PLAYERS HAVE PLAYED FOR NEARLY 1.5 MONTH FOR IPL. THEN AFTER A WEEK GAP THEY ARE PLAYING THE WORLD CUP. OBVIOUSLY THEY WILL BE TIRED. THE BCCI SHOULD NOT HOLD IPL EVERY YEAR. IT SHOULD BE ONCE FOR 2 YEARS ONLY. THE PLAYERS ALSO CANNOT AVIOD PLAYING IN IPL DUE TO SOME PROTOCOL IN BCCI. THERE SHOULD BE SOME REST FOR THE PLAYERS SINCE THEY ARE ALSO HUMAN BEINGS.

Cheer leader were missing
by Avi on Jun 17, 2009 10:44 AM  | Hide replies

The main reason for India's flop show was missing Cheer Leaders. In last world cup, there were cheerleaders and during IPL also, they had cheerleaders. So, just to see them dance, our players were hitting fours and sixes. They were even taking wickets for that. But here, nothing was there except for crowds claps. So, missing cheerleaders was the reason.
Indian team should have a word with the BBCI that one condition should be satisfied, whenever there is any big tournament, please send some cheerleaders, we will bring you the cup.

IPL is not the excuse. Committment to the country is the main reason

IPL is not responsible for world cup exit.. same politics played by team with the help of mafia or match fixers and fix the matches .. You can see clearly when we watch the matches

Indians failed allaround
by Prem Judge on Jun 17, 2009 09:55 AM

Gents, Let us not play the blame game. Fact is Indians did not adjust, learn and pick the right players at the right spot. Selectors too have to take the blame for sticking to the same line up and when changes were made, again made wrong choices. First 6 overs are vital in this form of the game and picking the gaps, chipping over the infield and using orthodox strokes to counter bouncers would have been more productive rather than trying to hit ever ball for four or six. No pont of having 4/5 still on the bench, so top order players should have played with more confidence and put some runs on the board instead of leaving it to people like Uvraj and Yussof to get them home every game. Indian Cricket and indeed Hockey players seem to know only one way "chakde" style rather than mixing that with cunning craft which produces better results. Tirdeness is a lame excuse for the amount of money they earn, turning over 3 or 4 over and facing a couple of dozen balls hardly breaks sweat. Indian cricketers earn obsene
money so please dont hide behind such excuses, if you are true professionals take a good hard look at yourself your dedication, attitute, effort and mental approach. Perhaps they should also be thought medetation techniques to help release tension, tiredness and focus better - isnt India the mecca for meditation?
Come on guys wake up from your slumber and be the real heros, we lost because of poor judgemnt, poor strokes, poor fielding and generally below par effort.

Yes Kirsten is Correct.

IPL is entirely responsible for Team India's loss... The 45 days highly packed itinerary just made the players fatigued and there was not enough time to rest, regroup, adjust for the players.
Just imagine what would be the state of the players if the cancelled pakistan tour had taken place? that wud have made most of the player unavailable for the world cup.

After all IPL is not all about cricket, its about money, power and women. Please restrict this shortest version and concentrate more on the other 2 formats which requires more application, skill, character, temperament.

captaincy
by tyagarajan kumaraswami on Jun 17, 2009 09:34 AM  | Hide replies

it is better to have captains for oneday 50 overs game and a differet guy may be a forceful personality for 20-20 game. And a senior guy for fiveday test matches. If we look at fromthis angle dhoni is better to cope upwith oneday 50 overs gamew. yuvraj for 20-20 and tendulkar for fiveday test matches.
