Team North India

Whats the use of England beating Indi (N.India)... even Eng didnt qualify for the semis. So beating a dead snake has no use.
The cricket team lost because of the collective effort of all the players of northie regions and the team was only a Team North India.

The bhai yya northies were all over these boards last week screaming why south indians should be kept out of the team because these bhai yya northies have lot of "physical power". (Last time I checked history, every single foreign invader plundered these bhai yyas and tookover their lands and enslaved the northies - yet they keep having wet dreams about their 'martial qualities' LOL. Rajendra Chola from the South invaded foreign lands but bhai yyas would rather glorify the Moghu l invaders that enslaved them instead of the south indian warriors, but thats another story for another day.)

So the entire world saw the strength and 'fighting spirit' of bhai yya northies. Did you see the 'fighter' Harbhajan (Mr. Turbanator) giving away 4s in wides in crunch situations.

Did you watch the great 'physical power' of bhai yya northy studs Jadeja, Rohit Sharma and Dhoni?

The other reason these northies were screaming in the discussion boards why south indian players should be kept away is because "South Indians dont look good". I must grant the northie bhai yyas that much... bhai yyas like 'Ishant Sharma' are really 'model material'. These bhai yyas are team NORTH INDIA's answer to Pakistani greats like Imran Khan & Wasim Akram in the talent, stamina and looks department!!!

No wonder why bhai yya bowlers like Ishant Sharma are idolized by North Indian media as the next 'Glen McGrath'.

Keep on dreaming. Atleast that doesnt cost anything.

Dhone & his team
by ajith gopal on Jun 16, 2009 09:01 AM

Dhoni has been blessed with the kind of bowling combinations India never had before. We are going thru a period where we have bowlers who is capable of using the conditions in New Zealand and also in Srilanka. Such is the variety India posses now.

All Dhoni had to do is to use it well with common sense and put some fielding strategy in place for the opposition team. Remember we have the bowlers to execute the bowling strategies. But in executing the batting strategy Dhoni must go beyond his ego to accept Yuvaraj & Sewag and their abilities. I think Dhoni is not using them well enuf and not accepting wht they are capable of, it can be a reason that both of them are a threat to his peaceful existance as the captain of India.

He sent Jadeja , when he had people experienced, capable people who can do the job, shows that he wanted to show all, he is not depended on Yuvi or Sewag. These kind of strategy can work at times, but not against a bowling unit who bowl with a strategy.

Dhoni cudnt read the strategy of all teams put in place for Indian Batsmen. The Short Pitch Stuff... All the newspapers and experts are talking abt it since our match against West Indies. Had Dhoni put some thought into it, he would have never committed that blunder of sending a person like Jadeja.

So he came to the team as a big hitter , now he is not. Is he a strategist? Lets wait some more time. So far he failed us with Blunders and decisions marred with his ego towards his successfull team mates.

Dhoni

Dhoni in his post match conference mentioned that normally he takes 10 to 15 balls to strike. In a 20 over match, if he takes 3 overs for practice and every player takes 3 overs each, no run can be scored. If Dhoni cannot play in such 20/20 over situation, best way is to give way for players who can do that.

Sadly, Dhoni's Visa Power did not work. However, he never misses a single ball in TV commercials and cleanly hits them out of the ground. He is talented in TV commercials. Even that is important you know. Atleast more important than showing up in Rashtrapati Bhavan to receive the Rajiv Gandhi Khel Ratna. Tell me how many cricketers are so committed to their strokeplay, as to choose 'Fake Sixes' for Pepsi and Visa power TV ads, over receiving a National award from the President. Therefore dont criticize Dhoni over a lack of commitment.

Next, Dhoni's commitment to build and groom a great Team North India shows long term vision. It reflects the North Indian patriotism that was evident in several online discussion forums as recently as 4 days ago, when pehelwan northies were commenting that since uttar bhartiya ppl were full of 'physical power' they only should be in team India and they will return with the World cup. Every since I read those comments about imaginary north Indian stamina, I have been sleeping peacefully having patriotic wet dreams about a glorious Team North India returning with the world cup!

Unfortunately, my wet dreams got interrupted today, when I accidentally switched on the TV while eating full plate of idli and vada sambar. I was so shocked at Team North India's performance that the steaming sambar spilled out, and the idlis and vadas went flying from my mouth.

Now I dont have rasam to drown my sorrows. Still I will cheer for bha iyya Team North India.

India lost coz of Dhoni
by sai subramanian on Jun 16, 2009 05:06 AM  | Hide replies

India required 9 runs from 2 balls...

Pathan hit a good shot at long on...but Dhoni didn't come back for 2 runs...(Remember England have messed up some many run-outs in this tournaments)
If Dhoni had run for 2 runs...India would have required 7 from 1 ball

Who knows Pathan would have hit another 6 (remember he already hit 1)...and the scores would have been tied...

Selectors:
Instead of Inform Munaf or Nehara they choose unfit Zaheer khan and Ishant sharma. And even Shewag tooo who was unfit.

it should be a learning curve for Krishnama Chary srikanth.if he continous the same mistake in future the sequences Dhoni facing today or in a day two or three will be faced by kris in near future.

Dhoni:Out of form,Burnt out of long cricket, not 100% fit,Cool head has become strong Headed.
Ghambir:Clearly burnt out(performing consistently from one year),need rest fro min 4 months,Over cautious,Can't handle burnden for long time(team),Need space for free his arm's from team burden,Dhoni's present right hand

Raina:Over Confidence, poor technic for short pitch balls.

Harbhajan:Burnt out,Has to go to his basics,Better to paly in domestic circuit for a while to gain confidence.

Worst bowling
by Mallik Sharma on Jun 16, 2009 12:19 AM  | Hide replies

It is true batting was not good and so we lost. But the bowling was worse. Especially Harbhajan was the villain of the piece. In the last two overs he gifted away 5 plus 5 = 10 runs to the English (wide plus four byes), which was quite avoidable. In the end those 10 runs did us in. 140-145 for England, we would have definitely won.

And the likes of Rohit Sharma should be dropped. Look at the domestic cricket - there are 1000 guys with his capability. In the IPL he was good. But thats a lottery and anyone on his day would have clicked. Nut look at his performance in New Zealand in the 50 over format. The number of chances he has got, some other players have not got.

Sharma:

Do you think if England had scored 201, we would still have scored 150?....

Boss, if they had scored 145, rest assured we would have scored 142 and lost by 3 runs.... that's how matches go...

Good Planing
by Venkat Pathi on Jun 15, 2009 11:01 PM

WI exploit the indian batsmen weakness with short ball Gautam ,Raina struggled a lot ..so the next match the Captain wih a very good plan added one more left hander who can struggle better the previous 2.

Pollard was hammered everywhere by SA.. but Dhoni the cool dude trying to settle down rather than targeting him...he is overconfident that he can hit Edwards or Taylore after settling down...
