We WANT UT
by extreme on Jun 12, 2009 08:42 AM  | Hide replies

I am from Ladakh and I want to become captain of indian team.. Ladakh is most ignored place in the world.. although we ladakhis fight thos porkiss and chinese like anything as we know the terrain better than any body.. solddiers from south and north come there and before climbing a small mountain.. unki phat jati hai.. we ladakhis are ready to die for the country which was not ours.. we are the most loyal ppl in India being in J and K.. we want UT.. kahmiris have been suppressing us like anything since decades.. but bcos of tourrism, defense and our own hardwork we have been able to live above the standard of people in other villages of india.. we ladakhis see 40-50000 foreign tourists every year and these days indian tourists are also increasing in number.. thats our bread.. we need support from govt for education and real developemnt.. tourism spoils the young people and attract them to settle for easy money.. we ladakhis need UT.... we ladakhis dont want ST status bcos we are not tribal.. we have very strong tradition, culture and religion which is most accepted by the ppl of other religions in the world.. thats Buddhism.. This religion teach us to be loyal honest and respectful and tell us to go for complete non-violence.. therefore I tell PM Manmohan to give some attention to our hardwork to defend the indian border in Himalayas, our loyalty (without which Ladakh wd have been in Porkistan very early), Honesty and peaceful, which is all contrast to ppl from Kashmir.

Will the writer disclose his name?
by B M on Jun 12, 2009 08:22 AM

Will the writer be brave enough to disclose his name? The tone of this article is disgraceful - it attempts to set off messages on regionalistic grounds rather than cricket. Whoever has written this article is a classic example of an irresponsible journalist.

His claim of Dilip Vengsarkar having supported is hollow. How many new West zone faces did Vengsarkar add in the Indian team while he was the selector? If one off cases of wrong selection can be a reason to allege regional biase, then Balaji's mysterious inclusion in the team for the NZ tour can also be used to dub Srikkanth as being biased towards TN.

Rohit Sharma's mom is from Vizag and Rohit Sharma speaks fluent Telugu. Does he count as a Southie? I know one thing for sure. He counts as Indian and thats what matters to me the most.

Its about time we unite as Indians and not have these shameful boundaries.

No Southern comforts

If at all anything has to be written on this topic, we must salute Shrikanth for not being parochial, and choosing the best possible team India, which most of us hope will be able to retain the cup. Instead of applauding him, and backing the team, why our journalists are hell benot on demoralising the team and its supporters, is somthing I fail to understand.

Because there is no one in the team from Rajasthan, Orrissa, Kerela or Kashmir, and may be several other states. What's our point. It is a team based on merit and capability, not spic-macay. What about all those Sa-re-ga-ma and Indian Idols that talents from Assam have won.

Pragyan Oza plays for Hyderabad, where does his Orissa connection came into picture. For example I originally belong to Maharashtra state but never lived for a single day, I born and brought up in North miles away from my forefathers are from & now I am a north Indian but you would have created controversy for me as per your convenience. This is pathetic journalism. Very Shameful discrimination..

It is so silly to see a write up from rediff that there is no player from the south in the playing eleven of India T20 at this year world cup. PRAGYAN OJHA ... when did he transfer to north.. i guess they have more detail on him then we readers to...

or may be HYDERABAD is no longer in the south zone of india.. may be it shifted to NORTH or WEST or...
